Try taking it to a local auto parts store, like an AutoZone. They will usually take it up to a certain amount 15-16 quarts or so. And usually they do it for free. You might want to give the store a call first to find out if they do and when and if there is any charge.

I take mine to a local AutoZone all the time. It's been free and they even wipe down my oil container after they empty it. :)

Check with your municipal department. We have several places that the city will take it for free. The hardest part is getting there when it is open. Our county land fill has a tank you can dump it in. I just save OJ jugs (Milk jugs work, just don't leave it too long, or the oil will soften the plastic and leak.. mine did :( ). I bring my oil changing container, plus the jugs and just drive up, dump the oil and I am off.

Most any quick lube joint will take used oil, as will most WalMart stores if you have 'em around.

I buy my oil in 5 qt. jugs and use the old ones for old oil. They don't leak, obviously.
