Hello, I am new to this forum and have been reviewing all the information on this site. Great Site. Anyway I want a 05 M/6 red on red GTO and I have gone to a local dealership here in Michigan. Before the GM employee to everone started the car I was concidering was 29grand and change with the employee discount. Now they want more for the car then they did before the promo. I was wondering if this is because of the cash incetives they were offering. I think it was a thousand bucks. If anyone can help and tell me if this is true, and if after the promo will the incentives come back? Also was wondering if anyone would know the percentage
off the car With the employee discount vs the percentage off with freinds and family or are they the same? The last two times i bought a gm prouduct i just had a slip I got from my friend. I have asked him and he's has no clue whats going on in the real world. :frankie: fruitcake. I would appreciate any info so I can get my GTO and stop Just staring at yours on the computer screen :type:

Friends and Family is different than employee pricing. Employee pricing is quite a bit better.

I'm not surprised to find out that in some markets the out the door price has actually gone up though. This current campaign takes control away from the dealerships, and some were using the previous $1000 rebate plus whatever discount they were offering to get below the current out the door price with employee discount.

I would expect GM to offer a similar incentive next month (and pretty much through the rest of the year.) It may not be employee pricing, but I would say it should be some amount of "cash back".

If last years rebates are any indication, I would expect the best rebates to start in September. (Last year they were $3500 cash back, which is a little better than current employee pricing.)

Thanks for the info. If you are a direct realitive of someone that works for GM can you still get the employee discount or just the friends and family? I really want this car but im going to exploit every option Ican to get a better price. I mean the intrest rates even all went back to 6.5% accross the board. Im pretty sure Ill be able to haggle a bit more when the promo ends.

GM employees can get employee pricing for their parents, siblings and children.

I'll be glad when this "Employee pricing for everyone" ends. I'm used to getting employee pricing PLUS any current incentives, so the current promotion doesn't help me at all.
