I am not sure if this has been posted on this forum, but the 05 GTOs are being delivered to the dealer with over inlated tires. I just checked mine after purchase and they were at 55psi. Max inflation recomended by the tire mfg is 44psi and Pontiac (on the door sticker) recomends 35psi. I put mine at 40psi front (heavy engine) and 35 psi rear. What a difference in ride and handling.

I had the same problem. I was wondering why my car wouldn't track straight while driving down the highway, but the mystery was solved once I checked the tire pressure. All four were inflated to just under 60 psi.

There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for selling a car with improper tire inflation, NONE! The dealer collects a fee from the factory for "new car inspection" which includes a check of all fluid levels, removal of all shipping materials, check of adjustments on things like headlights, and of course tire pressures.
As an ex-service manager, if a customer came to me and could prove (or even accused my shop) of overinflation, I'd either fire the new car check in mechanic or burn his a$$ so he'd never do that again.
Sometimes that also slips through the cracks when a car is driven (so much for a proper break-in  ) from one dealership to another and both think the other did the pre-delivery checks (and the salesmen don't care, believe me).
In my experience (and with the blessings of my local Good Year dealer who is quite knowledgable), if you look on the sidewall of the tire for the max pressure rating, subtract 4 lbs from that for the front and 6 lbs. for the rear as a starting point. That gives me 40/38 on my 05 Goat.
