I got home after taking my Goat in for it's first oil change, sat down and looked at my bill before I filed it, and noticed that it showed they put 5qts of oil in it. I went out and checked the oil level to make sure it wasn't a typo and sure enough it was 1 1/2 qts low. Needless to say I was pretty cheesed off. I immediately went and got 2 qts of Mobil 1 5W30 and finished filling it up. I shouldn't have to check the work done at the dealership where I bought the car.

Anyone that hasn't checked their oil level after an oil change should do so to make sure that the same thing hasn't happened to you. :angry:

And that's the reason why the only person I let change the oil in my vehicles is ME. :)

You were fine driving around like that as long as you weren't flooring it at every light and taking the corners at maximum G's. Glad you caught it though.

Had a similar experience a few years back. My wife took her car to the dealer for an oil change. When I got home that evening, she said that the car was making a weird noise. A quick check revealed that the idiots had forgotten to put any oil into the engine at all! Fortunately no permanent damage was done, but it shows that it is certainly worth the time to check.
