I have an 04 GTO with the black interior. The stiching on the upper inside of both rear seats has failed and the seam is opened about three inches. The dealer said it would be repaired under warrenty. But I cant help but wonder if this is going to be an on going problem with the stich thread.

Has any one had this problem ? I live in Miami and I am wondering if the sun and heat have anything to do with it. I would hope not. <_<

I'm very careful getting in and out of the front seat because the seat bolsters stick out so far, it's hard to not rub them. This would put un-designed stress on the stitching and would also tend to wear away the bluing from the leather surface.

But so far, no problems at 10,000 miles on my 05.

The dealer said the leather was bad, dried out and couldnt be fixed, so they have ordered me a new rear seat unit. Problem sloved.
