My salesmen called me today, the day I supposedly can pick up my 05 A4 GTO, and asked if I felt lucky, Turns out GMC applied the Employee Discount to the 05's today, this can be considerd good and bad.

Bad - If you bought your car this will probally make the resale value less

Good - I havent payed for my 05 yet and get a 2000 doller discount away from the 38,000 price tag.

Well it's good for anyone wanting to buy. Bad for those who just did and bad for all our resale values.

I'm almost of the opinion anymore that I wish the GTO would have stayed off. But I guess after GM saw only 690 some GTO sales in August that they want to boost that number up for the remainder of the model year.

Is that 38K with the SAP package and something else???

2k OFF OF 38k doesn't sound like much of an employee price to me. I paid 31k in Feb.

Yeah I got a call from a dealer I tried to buy the car from about a month ago. He let me know that the GTO is on the discount again, so I shall go either this Saturday or next and finally get the car this will be the third time I go to the same dealership for the same car. Hope everything works out, I'll keep ya updated.

Hmm.. that might not be so bad for me.. hopefully this will also push the value of the used ones down a little bit :)

Does anyone know how the price is calculated? Is the reduction a percentage, or a flat discount? Or is there some other method?

I ask because I tried it on the Pontiac site, and couldn't find a way to calculate for a 6MT.....could be I'm an idiot though. ;)

Thanks in advance.

its a per car thing...certain cars get more than others.

Might be time to for me to get off the fence. Going to see how much they will give me for my Mustang this weekend. Dealer here has 9 to pick from.

I picked up a black/red 05 6sp with 18" wheels for $32600.00 out the door yesterday :afro:

She's butta' smooth compared to my 98 T/A, which they only offered $3700.00 for. I kindly turned them down! :jumpon:

Its actually cheaper because it removed the $1000 gas guzzler tax that the auto has.
