Not much traffic on this site recently.
Here's the new special edition HSV GTO.

I like it. Spices it up without going over the top.
The hood stripes say Chevelle SS while the wheels say BMW.
What I really think looks nice is that the stripes are color matched to the interior. It would be nice to see a tan or light brown interior like that model has.
I think GM needs to make this a late model year addition. Maybe they will??? :)

Don't expect to get that kick a** front bar. I can guarantee you that Pontiac will slam the bodgy old dual honeyports onto this model as well. :(

You know there are a lot of guys who love the front end of the Holdens, but honestly I prefer the twin grille Pontiac look.
Twin grille says "Pontiac" to me. Without it seems lacking. Just my opinion. :)

Well this is supposed to be the last "Monaro"- So how long do you guys reckon it will be before GTO's cease production? Cheers, Pickles.

Not until the 12000 cars alloted to the U.S. market are sold . its a late in the year model so figure there will be holden gtos available in the states until late 2007 then figure on a U.S. made gto in aug/sept of 2008.

I think you may mean 2006 GTO's will be available here until late 2006. With only 12K or so scheduled to be produced don't count on there being many left after Nov/Dec of 2006. At the rates they are selling this year the 05's will be gone by the end of the year. You do the math then. With 12K in 05 and the 05's selling out by the end of 05, 12K 06's would naturally sell out by the end of 2006, maybe even faster with NO new GTO on the horizon.
THERE HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIRMATION OF A FUTURE GTO AFTER 2006. I repeat a next gen GTO has only been discussed and not CONFIRMED.
If you want a new GTO I'd suggest getting an 05 or 06. Don't wait for a new one that may not be here or could be here as late as model year 2010 or 2011. By then gas could be 10 dollars a gallon and all that waiting could have been in vain. :o

I agree with Orbit Orange. I think 2006 might be it for the GTO for awhile.
I am interested to see what they show us at the NAIAS this year. I suspect we'll see a new RWD performance coupe (Camaro) from the General and I don't think it's unreasonable to think a Pontiac version (GTO) could also be shown. I would only expect a concept vehicle, however, which would put a production version out a few years (my guess is 2010 is more reasonable than 2008).

I wonder if a 4 door GTO has a future?

I like what I see, but wonder if is worth the $$$. If I read correctly we are talking some serious clams. Of course I have assumed that the price listed was in U.S. dollars.
