: Procharger question
04bostonsound 10-23-2005, 01:56 AM Im looking to buy an ATI procharger next week. Tbryrne is having a sweet sale going on right now, and I just had a couple questions.
1. The P1SC kit runs 5 and 7 lbs of boost at around 525 hp. are the injectors able to support 10lbs of boost?
2.With the Race kit, what injectors would you guys recomend for 10lbs of boost (provided that the P1SC cannot support it.)
3. The race kit requires a harmonic underdrive pulley, ATI sells theirs for like 400 bucks but will SLP's fit?
I called ATI but I missed their business hours by about 15 minutes and then the weekend hit. Anywho thanks in advanced.
Nocturn 10-23-2005, 02:40 AM 1. I couldn't tell you, but I Imagine ATI tuned it to use the max of the stock system
3.Probably not, one is made to underdrive the crank only, the other is made to pull the supercharger belt.
04bostonsound 10-25-2005, 04:55 AM w00t I ordered the tuner kit. My buddy and I will be playin with it at the shop. Im probibly going to pick up the autotap software from Tbyrne to screw around with it. What size injectors would you guys recomend? I migh be running a small to mid size shot of nitrous. Theres a couple cobras that are beggin for a beating. One is an 04 and one is like a 98 (which I think is modified) Anywho, tell me what you recomend for the injectors. Nobdy would happen to know where I can get a sweet deal on a forged 347 kit would they?
TheJizzer 10-26-2005, 03:06 PM Not sure where you are going with your setup -- but the injsctors are not going to be your only problem. Fuel delivery is going to become an issue. You can get a supplimentary pump but I have heard mixed results.
I would say 60# injectors -- but let me check on that.
10lbs of boost on a stock LS1 is nuts! Better think about forged internals for that kind of boost.
And 525RWHP you should start thinking about the drive shaft, halfshafts and rear.
As for software -- go with HP Tuners.
If you are going forged why not a 408
Lastly before you mess with the juice - make sure you get the Supercharger tuned correctly.
04bostonsound 10-27-2005, 01:36 AM Let me tell you guys something, earlier today I went around to a couple performance shops askin my questions. I told the guy 10 and he looked at me like I was a crazed looney. I kinda laughed because I know I'm doing all this under good supervision. My buddy is one hell of a car fabrication specialist in EVERY FIELD! He just won a car show the other day with his 67 fastback. Back to what I was saying... For the fuel delivery, Lingenfelter sells a pump for about 150 bucks. Ive been pondering doing a little boring, but I dont want to have the worlds worst fuel economy. I pretty much said screw it to the autotap software and am going to get a dyno tune. Im going to be ordering my kooks headers really soon and all my other goodies which include, deffinately forged internals, maybe matched set of heads/cam forged internals, and that FAST intake manifold. Im probibly staying away from the juice though. Leaving the stock mufflers to somewhat hide the rumble as much as possible.
One last thing I gotta say, Im having somewhat of a cold war going on right now. Theres a guy 2 towns over (Very small county) and he has an 03 cobra. We're having a little war between the cars and havent actually raced yet. His girlfriend claims that he has 605 horsepower, but im calling bs on this one. I continue to say my car will remain stock so he'll never see it coming. This guy has no idea how deep my pockets are ;) Im such a jerk!

Nocturn 10-31-2005, 04:26 PM Supercharger, headers, intake, ECU, ported heads and probably a cam also...beefed suspension and drivetrain to handle it all because on street tires your just going to spin through all six gears.
04bostonsound 11-06-2005, 05:05 PM update** ordered 42lb injectors for the supercharger, and a forged bottom end minus the crank. Im keeping the stock crank just because it will handle tons of power and I dont feel like spending anything I dont have to. I have the sway bars, looking to get the BMR subframe connectors and new shocks. I'm having a custom driveshaft made at the moment. How do you guys think the half shafts and rear end will hold up? they look pretty wussy to me.
