I uploaded the "Performance Tune" and it woke the car up a lot. Then I beefed up the shift pressure at both partial throttle and WOT. I also adjusted the MPH shift to what the manual said to. Theres a LOT of little things you can adjust on there to get more out of it, but I didnt have a clue as to anything else, so I didnt wanna touch something and break something lol

But as it is right now, the car is like night & day with my tune. My a** end kicks out on 3rd gear :P

I plan on making this my next mod. I'm curious to what all who have the A4 and the Predator tuner have to say.

I've got an A4 and a predator, it is for sure a really good upgrade for automatics.
When I first got it I just loaded the performance tune, without modifying it, it wasn't that special, I'm sure by changing the shift times and pressure this would make a big difference though.

However I bought the predator from a company who writes specific tunes for the mods you have, where you live, etc... They get more in-depth, such as changing the timing quite a bit. I saw night and day differences between the preloaded predator tune and this one. It took us a few times to get it right, but it has been running great since.

I'm going to have a dyno tune soon since this is always the best way to go, and I will be drastically improving the potential performance. I can't decide if I want to sell the predator after. It is still a really good tool for engine diagnostics. If you throw a code the predator will allow you to see what it is. For example before the header install I was running a little rich, causing a check engine. Rather than panic and take it to the dealer I was able to reset it the few times it came on.
...The headers leaned it out and I don't get the check engine anymore.

If I do decide to sell it, I'll make sure to post it up on the board.

I don't think we have any one around where i live that does the costum tunes, so a freind of mine and myself are playing with it just making mild adjustments and seeing what it does. Hopefully nuthin will burn up .

What numbers did you use for the MPH shifts. The only ones i see in my book or for a corvette with a different gear set. Also can you look and see what the numbers are in the predator after you have a costum tune. I know when i changed my numbers you can go in and look at what they are . Right now i have my spark at 5, fuel at 5, torque management off, shift pressure at 15, rev limit at 5689 or something like that. Just wonderimg what other people have in theres and whats workin and whats not.

Here is what I got directly on the intitial tune from the company who set it up. Its important to know the predator does actually have the capability to load tuning beside the adjustable factors. I think you can actually purchase the ability to modify the spark timing and other factors via PC, then use the predator to load them. This is how I did it, they posted my settings, I downloaded to the predator via serial cable and uploaded that tune to the car.

Note they did set the shifting way higher than I would have had the nads to do myself, I may lower this soon, I'll find out at the track Friday.

- Torque Management: Removed
- Speed Limiter: 255 mph
- Shift Points RPM: 6000 rpms
- Shift Duration: Approx. 25 to 50% quicker than factory (please do not shorten any quicker)
- Shift Pressure: Approx. 30% above factory (please do not raise any higher)
- COT (cat over temp): OFF (causes the vehicle to run rich in the mid to high rpms if left on)
- Idle: Factory (no need to change)
- Rear O2's DTC's: ON
- Fans: Optimized for factory thermostat (approx. 25 to 30 degrees cooler than factory).
- Spark: Optimized. I have revamped the timing curve at all throttle positions.
- Fuel: You should be between 12.8 and 13.1 at WOT.

runnin with the devil (RWTD) They offer post purchase tunes, I think it's $125 for 2 seperate tunes.

How do you know if its optimized and where your fuel is at . I'm confused about the 12.8 or 13.1 or is that some of the stuff you can do on the computer.

RWTD did the setup not me, purchasing the software to modify your own was just an example of the capabilities, I did not purchase the software. I had to trust them on the spark optimization, they have been doing it for years. They sent me a completed file via their forum and I downloaded that to the predator, then uploaded that file to the car. 12.8-13.1 is the Air:Fuel ratio, the higher the number the leaner you will be running, lean can be unsafe for the engine, I think you can modify that via the predator, never tried though.

I'm getting a dyno tune right before Thankgiving if everything works out, I would like to hear what they have to say.
