Sorry for being ignorant about the manufacture of the GTO, But I want to know if they Ship the LS2 engines to Australia for installation or does it get installed in the US?

Let me ammend one thing.

SAP kits are put on here I believe.

They may also come over without the spoilers on and are put on here. I could be mistaken on that one, but it doesn't really count anyway.

Did they ever make the LS1 in Austrailia?

As far as I know the answer is no.

All LS1's were built in North America I believe. I may be mistaken but one of the plants is located in Mexico while another is in Canada.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall reading that all LS1 engines were shipped to OZ for their Holdens.

I believe that is true also, from what I know...the Canada plant made the LS1, but was shut down, so the mexican plant that used to only make the LS6, then started making LS1s also. Both were then shipped to OZ for installation.

The fuel injectors are made in Charleston SC. The throttle body is made outside of Greenville SC. The manifold, fuel rail, injectors, MAP sensor, and throttle body are combined into an integrated unit in Anderson SC and then shipped to St Catherines Ontario to be put on the engine (Some are currently being shipped to Silao Mexico). I can't remember where the rail, MAP, and manifold are made, but I can find out. I believe the ABS unit comes from Germany.

Holden made their own v8 until they imported the ls1, the monaro only ever had the ls1 in it though.
