: dead battery due to trunk switch

After getting a jump I see that the on-board computer says 'alarm activated by trunk'. So I check the trunk and it wasnt opened. Later on the car is parked and the rapid horn tones go off indicating the alarm again. So I go back and start it up, barely since the battery is drained, and the same message flashes again. I find out that the trunk light has been on constantly since the switch was not functioning properly. Bottom line is: you should take the switch apart and check the connections for grime. Clean it up and make sure the light goes out by depressing it while the trunk is open a few times. Or you can always park facing down on a hill if you have the m6 like I do.

That sucks man.. as a matter of fact, my camaro has no trunk light in it right now... It ran my battery dead on a couple of occasions and I finally figured out what was doing it.

ARSONANDY,
Mine won't go on. I have had a new switch installed two times now and it still does not work. Maybe, it's a good thing!
