How will Factory replacement parts be affected by the kill off of our Gto's. I would hope warrenty work will still be done. But if I need enternal work done on my 05 in 09 will parts be a problem?

It's my understanding that the GTO LS2 is identical to the engine used in the C6 'Vette.....So I wouldn't expect any problems with parts and service.....Not sure about the LS1, however.

True, so there will still be INternal parts made for it, added into the fact that it will probably be around for a number of years, its after they stop making the LS2 that it might be a problem, but the aftermarket, and restoration market will no doubt continue to make parts for them.

The federal government mandates manufacturers carry replacement parts for 7 years past end of production so we are good to 2013 at least for parts specific to the GTO and even further for the LS2 motor and tranny itself. Factory replacement parts might start to thin out after 2011 for the LS1 but the aftermarket should remain strong for it.
