What do you think?
Nocturn 03-08-2006, 11:17 AM Looks pretty clean, what kind of numbers are you expecting?
LA_Phantom 03-08-2006, 12:31 PM I think that it looks great! However, I have some questions:
1. How are the cam and heads going to impact the supercharger boost / performance?
2. Do you plan on changing the supercharger pulley?
3. Who is going to do the tuning? (I was under the impression that the tune for the Maggie from Magnuson was based on basically a stock engine.)
4. Do you have enough fuel delivery (i.e., fuel pump, injectors, etc.) for the Maggie with heads and cam?
5. Have you done anything with the clutch, driveshaft, and/or rear end to handle the additional horsepower?
6. How are you going to get the power to the ground? Suspension modifications? What about wheel hop?
7. Are modifications to the MAF required?
8. In conjunction with the heads and cam, will long tube headers (assuming that is what you currently have installed) adversely impact the Maggie's performance?
9. What about the factory warranty?
10. What about the Maggie warranty?
I wish you the best of luck getting this beast on the road. If all goes well, I would estimate the rear wheel horsepower to be in the neighborhood of 530 Hp to 550 Hp. If anyone knows better, and I am way off base, please let me know.

try2pass 03-08-2006, 01:48 PM Nocturn: The tuner said I could expect anywhere from 525RWHP to 550RWHP and 560 to 580 on the torgue.
LA_Phantom:
1. How are the cam and heads going to impact the supercharger boost / performance?
The Cam is made specifically for a Blower and the heads are still stock.
2. Do you plan on changing the supercharger pulley?
Don't plan on changing the pulley. You are limited on the boost you can run do to the High Compression Motor
3. Who is going to do the tuning? (I was under the impression that the tune for the Maggie from Magnuson was based on basically a stock engine.)
Mike Norris at Next Level Performance is doing the tune. He has LS2 Edit so tuning is not an issue.
4. Do you have enough fuel delivery (i.e., fuel pump, injectors, etc.) for the Maggie with heads and cam?
Bigger injectors come with the Maggie. I don't need bigger fule pumps yet but probably will when I add Nitrous.
5. Have you done anything with the clutch, driveshaft, and/or rear end to handle the additional horsepower?
I had a Spec Stage 3+ Clutch put in which can handle up to 1000 HP and not break. Used on many serious cars.
6. How are you going to get the power to the ground? Suspension modifications? What about wheel hop?
I was running mid 12's launching at 4500 RPM with just headers and CIA and a 1.78 60 foot time but I was also running on MT ET streets with no wheel hop.
7. Are modifications to the MAF required?
No modifications to MAF other than in the tune.
8. In conjunction with the heads and cam, will long tube headers (assuming that is what you currently have installed) adversely impact the Maggie's performance?
It should not make any difference with the LT's which were already on the car.
9. What about the factory warranty?
The factory warranty is gone because of the CAM.
10. What about the Maggie warranty?
The Maggie has a 3 year warranty.
I will post the numbers as soon as I get them.
LA_Phantom 03-08-2006, 02:31 PM Hehehe...thanks for the response. I think that we talked of this car being on the street. Do you plan for it to be a daily driver? Or will it become a weekend driver?
Regarding the heads, sorry...I misread your post. I read "Stage 3", and not "Spec Stage 3".
I seem to recall having read something about modifications to the Maggie tune and voiding the Magnuson warranty. Not that it really matters now, but you might want to see what you can find.
Based on the current information, let revise my HP guess to 515 rwhp. ;) Man, I would love to go for a ride in your car when it is finished.
