When I first peeked in this area, I expected to find some sorta 'list' of all the member's goats...like vins, colors, where they bought them, etc. Would be interesting if we could start something like that. My dad had a new Olds W31 (1970). Those cars are extremely rare. Today, there's a book that exists that lists the vins and descriptions of every W31 made and its current whereabouts, if known. Unfortunately, my dad sold his when my mother became pregnant with ME. She wasn't able to drive the 4-speed. He sold it to his buddy, under the agreement that he'd be able to buy it back later on. The buddy promptly wrapped it around a tree. :(

We used to have a Garage section where members posted pics. We had a lot but when we switched over to the new website they weren't carried over. We've suggested to Branden (Formula79) to get it back up. I think there is a link for some to the GMInsidenews Garage. You could try that in the meantime.

that would be nice . Id like to see some other gtos.
also the w31 isnt all that rare .the w31 package was just the ram air package and there were a ton of them you dont even have to have a 442 to have the w31. The w30 is the rare one and in 70 there were a fair amount of those too.All in all the 442s were produced in higher numbers than the gto but time has of course dwindled this # down to who knows how many

Well, I could be wrong, but I do believe the W31s (350 cars) were more rare than the W30s. Either way, supposedly, the one my dad had was 1 of 1. It was navy blue with black deck stripes. That color combination was not offered via the factory. He special ordered the car from a big olds dealer that was big into high performance and I guess there "was a guy" there that had an "in" with the factory. Supposedly, my dad's car was removed from assembly and painted seperately. So the story goes. Doesn't matter now though, it's razor blades. lol.

Speaking of killer garages....mine's bigger than my house. 32' X 48' with a 10' ceiling. Has a bathroom too. I spend most of my time out there.

It would be neat if we could create a "list" with VINs, descriptions and where purchased and when...that sorta stuff. Not a thread by thread type deal. Click on a link, see a spreadsheet or something of the sort.

thats too bad about that car .I just saw a 1 of a kind 70 w30 that was pulled off the line and painted a tornado only jade green .It went to 201k ON EBAY BUT NEVER REACHED ITS RESERVE!!!!! holy crap . theres currently a w31 cutlass on there which is likely what you all had .it lists at a resonable 32k and has hit its reserve.no too shabby for a cutlass. there definetly were more w31s because all w30 had w31 packages. however if your just looking for the number on the side of the car im not which w machine comes up more.
