Hello all. This is my first post.
I was looking at getting some JBA short headers for my 06 Goat. How ever, after reading some of the other posts, I'm back to square one. I wanted to keep it simple and only cost an arm. Something that would just bolt on. And add some HP.
Thanks for the help!

Well your best bet is long tube headers, but they are pretty much the opposite of what your looking for, expensive, and not a simple bolt in installation...but it gets you good HP gains.

+1...Let me just say that I am very happy with my long tube headers. Given the opportunity to do it all over, I would again go with the long tube headers.

Headers are the best bang for the buck. Unfortunately headers cost around 900 to 1200 bucks depending on which you get. Then there is installation unless you do it yourself.
If you just want a cool louder musclecar sound find a cat-back exhaust that sounds good to you and do that. It won't net you many HP but it will sound like it did. ;)
How much $$$ are you willing to spend?

Thanks guys.
However due to an uninsured motorist that rear ended me this weekend, the headers will have to wait.

OUCH! Sorry to hear your misfortune, was it the GTO?
Hopefully your insurance carrier will come through for you. Again sorry. :(

Another GTO involved in an accident...up go the insurance rates. The really crappy thing is that he was not even at fault. It seems that I read more and more about GTOs involved in accidents, with someone other than the GTO owner at fault. Sure there are accidents involving the GTO where the owners are at fault, but it seems that I do not hear (read) about these as frequently. It goes to show you how unfair life can be. Today has been one of those days. Sorry about my mood. I don't even know what my point is other than it certainly sucks for cncmasterofor. I feel your pain, man.

P.S. I think that I am on a quick ride to insanity. Anyone want to come?

Thanks, and it was my Goat.
There's nothing I can really do, but try to make lemonade. Right?
At least it's not too bad. Just a few grand. And I should get it back Friday.:D

So you have to go without your goat for a period of time and deal with the associated aggravation of other such things as having to hitch a ride to pick it up, dealing with the insurance company, etc. It certainly could have been a lot worse. I guess that getting it back on Friday is not too bad. I would suggest that you ensure it has been repaired to your stisfaction prior to bringing it home.
