Okay, I have heard many different things about what the 06' GTO can do in the 1/4 .... Heres one of my few questions. Can the 06' GTO be in the 12's in the 1/4 if it has a 60ft of 1.5-1.8 ? If not then what kind of mods can you do to make it run in the 12's. My current goal is to reach the 12's in a GTO. What are a couple of mods that wont cost more than $1000 total ? and what kind of hp would I be looking at ? My last question is what would my 1/4 times approximately be ?

its going to cost much more than $1k to get into the 12s with a gto. Cai $200-300, long tube headers $1100-1500 (plus installation),drag radials $?, drag bags $? and a good dyno tune $350-600 should get you there if you can drive the car properly.and yes even a 1.9 60 could still get you in under 13 seconds . based upon drag slip times list on the internet.

I would say its possible for under 500 bucks if you know how to drive, don't forget that the 04 LS1 powered GTO has gone a 13.3 before...its all a matter of the driver skill. Many LS2 powered goats are hitting low low 13s without much effort.

I agree with both GTO_n_442 and Nocturn. I know I have read of a couple of goats that were basically stock running in the high 12s. I think that the GTO is capable of running times better than what is being posted, but they are difficult to effectively launch...especially the M6. I think that the BMR Drag Bags help with this quite a bit as they help mitigate issues with wheel hop. Even though I don't get the wheel hop, I will spin the tires if I am not careful. Playing around, my best success is if I do not try to launch at a high RPM. That is, I do much better with a knee-jeck clutch disengagement while rolling into the accelerator.

i've seen them run 12.9x bone stock. my '04 ran 13.3x stock. like it's been said, the driver mod is the first thing everyone should do.

I don't think it is hard, but every car is different. I would say you need a CAI, and coated headers (to keep engine temps down), at the very least. Don't bother with the catback...not much to be gained there.
