That's my question. And do you like them, the sound that is. This is more aimed at exhaust only guys. I'm thinking about this as my next mod, for sound really. With all the loud blatty truck exhausts around my area the stock exhaust doesn't turn any heads.

Oh and yes I know about headers, but I'm just thinking on doing catback first as the money dictates. I'll have to save up for a few months just for the exhaust, let alone headers.

I likw thw SLP LM alot. One thing is though...the LM1 dies not sound good on cars with long tubes. It is raspy and rattles. What I suggest is since the exhaust are modular, buy the LMI, and then when you get headers, get the LMII mufflers, which are somwhat cheap and will bult right up.

Yep I wouldn't want LT's and the LM1 both. A little too loud for my taste. If I did do headers down the road I'd probably do as you suggest. :)

Any others with the LM1?

Actually, before I purchased my Magnaflow CB, I spent a lot of time online researching the sound in which I was most interested. If you really want to know what a particular setup sounds like, I would recommend hitting some of the free video hosting websites. There are plenty of videos (with sound) available. If you do go this route, I hope that you have a broadband connection. :)

Yes I do. :) I have heard many and most just sound too quiet. It would be nice if we could get some people here to link to their exhaust soundclips.

Nothing like putting the phone at the rear of one's GTO and revving the sucker up so that someone 750 miles away can hear what the Kooks / Magnaflow setup sounds like. Maybe I can do the same with my cell phone...only this time produce a sound clip. I know that I have mentioned it in the past, but I am very happy with my hardware selection.

As far as being too quiet, I certainly do not want to be labeled as a troublemaker in the neighborhood. ;)

Maybe it's just me, but sound clips just don't seem to convey a good sense of the tonal qualities that are produced from different exhaust setups. Also, at different load conditions, engine speeds/throttle positions, there are variations of tone that most clips don't give you. The best, but not the easiest way to sample different setups is to spend some time with cars equipped with the systems installed. I filmed my car on the dyno, and when I looked at it latter, it sounded just like almost every other clip that I had sampled. In real time though, there was NO comparison to my "clip". Just food for thought.

I really like Borla. That is what may go on my car...though it will cost me alot more money.

It is not just you. At best, an audio clip, or video clip with audio, can only give you an idea as to what the finished product may sound like. As was mentioned, it would be better to sample sounds in person, but this is usually not possible. Subsequently, we are left with our Internet research being the best method of evaluation. That is why I tried to find audio of more than an owner simply revving their car. I also tried to find audio of launches, driveby, and even at idle.

Even after having chosen and installed my exhaust setup via the aforementioned methodology, my car does not sound exactly like those vehicles with a comparable setup. Then again, most of what I hear is from within the car. It was not until I was on the dyno that I was able to really hear what the car sounds like at WOT. It is obviously my opinion, but I sure think that ol' Betsy sounds mighty good.
