Bonzelite, I have been reading your posts since you got the goat. You sound very much like I felt when I got mine last November. The funny things is that I still feel the same way about my baby. If I do not drive her enough, I fall into a state of deep depression. :D

The groupies still happen, even after a year. The last time I was having a alignment check and adjust, down at the dealership, a small group gathered around the car and me when I pulled in. Comments like, is she fast, nice color, and any tickets yet? But I'm use to it. I used to get that alot in my old '69 goat!:)

Because you are not at the office, I have to represent. Note the email I sent earlier, I have driven ol' Betsy everyday this week. I need to be careful with so much driving. Otherwise, I will new tires before you. ;)

I just bought a silver 06 with red leather and the M6. I traded in my 2006 Mustang GT for it. I love everything about the car. I have already installed an aftermarket H.I.D. kit. I had a computer tune and a CAI for my 2006 Mustang....any suggestions for this GTO. I'm looking at RPMoutlet.com and they are showing a dyno proven 45 RWHP increase with a tune and the AEM brute force intake. The only problem is that I don't like metal intake tubes and visible filters. What about Volant or K&N? I'm looking to run this car deep into the 12's with bolt ons and street tires. Is this possible?

If you get a 45 rwhp increase with the AEM Brute Force Intake, please let me know...otherwise, I will have to call BS on RPMoutlet. I would recommend that you take a look at what the forum sponsors have to offer. Marlandspeed.com has some of the better prices on many of the aftermarket parts and pieces for the new GTO's.

I am of the opinion that you are only going to see a few Hp difference between any CAI that you choose. Also, you will probably not see the full benefits until after the car has been tuned. Additionally, there is nothing cold about the air being drawn in...volumetrically speaking, you will be able to flow more air, but it will be the same hot air that the stock intake receives. I do not like the metal intake tubes because of their relatively high thermal conductivity (i.e., ability to transmit thermal energy to the intake air), relative to the plastic intake tubes. You can argue that the tube is short and the air does not have time to be heated. All I can say about that it, yeah right. I personally have a K&N Air Charger on my car, but believe that I would be equally happy with and LPE or Volant CAI.

Some of these cars have reportedly made it into the 12's stock. I do not know that this was done on stock tires, and suspect that drag radials were more than likely part of the equation. You have to remember there are a lot of factors that are difficult to quantify, such as track preparation, vehicle variances, and obviously driver skill. Something else you may want to investigate is "wheel hop" and "heat soak". I hope that this helps, and please let me know if you have any subsequent questions. I always have an opinion. ;)

I have had mine since November of 06 and I still find my self going out the garage to look at it. I love to drive her it seems no matter how bad the day is she makes it right. The other thing that I like is not ever Tom **** and Sally has one, I drive all over Nor Cal and North NV and I am lucky to see one at all now this is good and bad but it makes the car more to me. I also look at the GTO as a gentlemen’s (& ladies) car. Look we all know how mean she really is but she does it with such class. One last thing I must say and that I have been a member of allot of other forums with my other cars and have tried some other GTO forms but I have found New Age to have some cool members that like to help and keep it fun.
And that’s all I got to say abut that.
