Anyone else bothered by their left foot getting hung up behind the clutch pedal while trying to bring it back up off the dead pedal? At first I thought it was just the pedal itself that was too close to the left side trim panel, but then I realized that the hood release lever extended down too far, and the toe of my shoe was getting hung up on it. I cut off the lower three inches or so of the handle just at the point where it stops being straight and begins to curve. This helped immensely, and it's still reasonably easy to open the hood. Now I'm fine as long as I'm not wearing shoes with a wide sole. The next step is going to be trimming the left side of the clutch pedal cover. Hate to do it but. . . .

Yep, I got big feet and I too have had problems with pedal clearance on my GTO. Mine is an '04, so I don't have a dead pedal...but ALL of the pedals are too close together and cramped if you ask me. I guess the Aussies all got small feet. No wonder their women love American men. LMFAO!!!

I thought that was one of the complaints of many new GTO owners...the fact that there is no dead pedal.

With an 04 A4 I don't have any of those problems. ;)
My left left has so much room it doesn't know what to do. :D

I find that hard to believe. What about the hood release lever? If you stretch your left leg out you're bound to hit it. And aren't your '04 pedals the same as '05 and '06?

Nope. Never have.

As far as I know yes. But remember we 04's don't have the dead pedal and that frees up some room for your foot down there.

At first it bothered me, but I have learned to adjust where and how I move and place my foot. Don't even think about it anymore.

It's funny but I actually watched how I pull my foot out of that area and I just naturally kind of bend my foot out of the way of the hood release so it just misses. I see how it could be more of an issue on an 05/06. Of course I don't have giant feet either (size 10 1/2).

at first this bothered me. i have a new 06 M6. now i just adjust my left foot over so it settles past the clutch pedal. it's still cozy, but i'm getting used to it. GM could have spaced the pedals a little better, though.
