So I lost my Z, long story, do'nt want to get into it. Now I have to buy another car now. I can't spend anything more than $2000. (yes I am still a poor college student for the next 2 years, lol) I would like something fun and sporty, 2 doors. Any ideas would help. I've been looking at 3rd Gen. F-Body's, but haven't been able to find a good deal. I did find an '88 RX7 though for $1500, good condition to, only 100,000 miles. Keep in mind, I have to drive this car back up north for school in like 2 1/2 weeks. Help meeeeee!!! Thanks guys! :)

Here's some REAL advice. Quit worrying about what you look like driving your car and buy something that will get you through until you can get what you really want. Most used F-body's, RX-7's and the like have been abused in your price range. All you'd be buying is a money pit and as a college student you can ill-afford a fixer-upper. Find a GEO Prizm with under 100,000 miles and drive it til it dies. I had a 95 with 150,000 miles, original brakes and all. Only maintenance was tires, gas and oil. Take this advice and you'll be glad you did.

Pretty much what cvp said. :)

Might I suggest maybe an older Sunfire or Sunbird to keep it in the Pontiac family. Pickins' get mighty slim down at 2K though. If you don't mind rwd and carburetion then how about a late 80's G body (Grand Prix, Regal, Cutlass, Monte Carlo)? Might be able to land one for 2K but it won't be cherry.

You might be able to get a higher mileage W body for 2K if you look around (probably a 88 to 93 or so) They could give you fwd and fuel injection if your worried about winters. Of course they will be a little tired too.

Then just get a picture of a new GTO, tape it to the dash and give yourself a goal for the future.

Good luck! :D
