Both the motor runs have pretty good exhaust clips. I think there may be a bad word in there...

Note the 2nd gear bigtime spin

I slept at the line on the nitrous run but still pulled ahead vs. a procharged 05 with more than 600 rwhp.

Thanks! We have track meets quite often. 2 back in November at SAR. Usually have 20+ GTOs attend. Trying to get everyone to go to Houston next, as that's the "fast track", and I've never ran there yet.
Let me know if you would be interested.

Houston's a nice little ride for me, 'bout the same as Temple I guess. Lemme know what you're able to set up. There was a GTO gathering at the strip here in S.A. a few weeks ago, but I was too busy to attend. BTW, pickin my goat up from MTI this Saturday, with a whole bunch of goodies on it....................

I saw that in the other thread, should be an awesome ride. I wouldn't mind a little more displacement.

I watched all three videos, but forgot to comment on them. So please afford me the opportunity to do so now. My comment is "That is one bada$$ goat you are sporting there!" Good job!

Appreciate it! I think it spent as much time this year torn apart as it did race ready. My goal by spring is 11s on motor, 10s on nitrous (but I'll be happy with either/or). I think the trip to Houston and potentially 3.73s beforehand and I'll be there.

What would cause you to choose 3.73's over 3.91's?

Car is an automatic. I would be going into 4th gear at the track, which I don't really want to go. MPG is already around 14-15 average at best, gears will probably only worsen that. Most of all, I've asked around and the guys with A4s and 3.91s who I trust have said they wish they had gone with 3.73s instead.

You know...I saw that you were running an automatic transmission, but failed to even consider that with respect to the rear end gears. Thanks for the information.

Nice runs! I have a question. How do you launch your A4 off the line? I know you have considerable mods. Would your launch tech. work in a stock A4? I hear some torque brake at certain rpm and others just time the thottle at 3 seconds, being that they press into the thottle and at "3" their WOT.
P.S. the last run between the two goats was classic. Cool!:)

I used to foot brake to about 1500 and launch from there, but recently switched to leaving off idle. My 60 fts have gone from around 1.85 to consistently 1.73-1.76, not great, but pretty good. With the tires I have, as long as I heat them up, I can usually just hammer it off the line without easing into it. This will probably not work with stock tires :)

How to launch an A4 really just depends on how the individual car responds best and the track conditions, just try both ways.

Yea the run vs the procharged goat was great, only because everyone was watching since we had the fastest 2 GTOs there. He would have had me on any other run though with my poor reaction time, but he had some sparkplug issue. My times on the nights we've ran together are only .1-.2 seconds better than his.
