Hey guys, I like to thank you in advance for all your input on this forum and some great pics./vids. of the fine autos that are running around down there. My question is, do you know of any company that has a CAI system that replaces/incorporates the radiator cover and allows air to come from the hood scoops and directs it to the air box? THX.

No, I dont sorry. I think i know what you mean though, there's some American car that had the same setup, I have been trying for the last 20 minutes to remember what it is....Dodge Ram comes to mind but cant find one with a similar intake lol.

Anyway, I do know what you mean, but I wouldnt have thought there'd be alot of room between the hood scoops and the top of the engine. Plus (and I'm just going from memory here) I dont think the scoops would line up with where the throttle body is, so yeah.....

But I had a good look and couldnt find something, but if you do, be sure to get back to us and tell us about it, there's a few people over here that I'm sure wouldnt mind having a look into it too.

Well, you're in a bit of luck, I asked the boys (and girls of course) in my car club (www.brisbanecommodore.com :D) and someone came up with half an answer for you FRO' me old son....


This is the car I was talking about. Although in this instance the bonnet vents are further up the bonnet, but there are panel filters and air boxes under the hood, then piping direct the air back round to the TB. It's a wierd setup, but looks different to say the least...Sorry no under bonnet pics either, couldn't find them. Cheers.

And here's the pic, I've asked who did this GTO (its aftermarket obviously) and I'm waiting on an answer back.

i know that pic, thats the 05 GTO concept that won's GM woodrows concept competition. i know a online place that makes the exact hood with scoops comming together and channeling the air over to where the air box would be. if you guys want ill post the link, its also carbon fiber

Thanks "V", I have seen this car-nice. I even saw a photo of under the hood, it had a air box w/two square filters(k&n?) right under the scoops, then run down to the thottle body. I really like to keep my stock hood and incorporate a system w/my K&N CAI. Thanks again -FRO.
