What size tires will the GTO have?
THe "concept" had 245/40/18
Then Poniac said the production would get 225/50/17
But here (sept 2003) it shows 245/45/17

Read the boards. We know for a fact (from Jim Hopson) that the car will have the 245/45ZR17 BF Goodrich KDWS tires.

That is good news , anything smaller than 245 it too small.
KDWS is a good tire too. That will be good for selling the car to people in the snowy areas.

I never understood why they'd put a 225 on it - all the 17" wheels on Commodores here are 235 minimum ... seeded silly to put smaller tyres on it.

That said, the monaro looks *far* better with 18's than 17's :)

Decromin,

Some suggested that the 225's were used to try and increase gas mileage by reducing rolling resistance. Truth is nobody's admitting anything. I'm just glad they switched.

I am reading right out of my Pontiac GTO Brochure here.....
It says tires: P225/50-R17 W Rated

That sounds like something that Pontiac would put on a car. I would LOVE a 245, but I just Don't see it happening here. I really hope I am wrong though.

Fortunately you are wrong. The Brochure is way out of date. If you read the press release yesterday toward the end they have the specs. The Tires are listed as 245/45ZR17 KDWS.

Here's my first purchase:

http://customwheelsmarket.com/alef1883.html

Why? The 'show cars' rims always looked so **** good on the GTO. I just want rims that are closer to that look and offer the advantages of 18" rims. Can someone verify the bolt pattern, offset, etc.? I believe it was posted before but I'm too ****ed lazy to research it myself.

Funny you should ask him that because cvp is on the verge of becoming a Large Member.

Size will be 245/40/18's. Most likely Kuhmos, Sumitomo's or Yokahamas. I'm also researching on TireRack and may end up with Mille Miglia Spider II's. I can have these mounted, balanced and delivered to my door for around $1,350.

As far as the large member goes. I refer to myself as the "angy inch".

I like those rims Davbo...good call! I just don't care for the painted finish on the stock rims...I like the design, but not painted rims.
