Back on 10/18/03 in Grand Island, Nebraska at 7:45 PM, while driving my '79 TA,
I spotted a 2004 GTO at the pumps of a local convenience store. What drew my
attention were the wide spoked wheels - the same wheels I'd viewed in the GTO
section at the Pontiac web site. As I slid by the front of the car a young clean
cut looking (engineer?) was moving hurriedly from a blue pickup at the back of the
lot to the GTO drivers seat while watching me. By the time I's swung around the
pumps both the car and truck where underway going the opposite direction. This
took them through a couple of dark lots and out into a subdivision and finally to
the highway with me in tow.
I can attest the GTO has brisk acceleration. I didn't offer to follow the vehicles
down the highway. The car was Torrid Red and I didn't see any emblems on the body.
It carried Colorado plates.
