I found these on Wieck.com but they call it the Performance Plus Edition?

Why back to the old wheels I wonder? Looks cool...I like the deep grill but not to sure about what is going on below it.

This has to be the AutoCross isn't it?

Yup, that IS nice. And those wheels are great, love 'em. Give me two subtle, small hood scoops and we've got a deal. ;-)

You can just glue on some fake ones like the '64 model had. You won't lose any power that way.

Functionally speaking, it doesn't look like it would need hood scoops. It appears to have dual air inlets in the lower (front) fascia. I do like the look over the standard GTO. Throw on a supercharger and 19" IForged wheels and your set. :drevil:

I'd kill myself first. Lemme' 'splain. I've got some kid in my neighborhood with a great looking Acura RSX. Beatiful car with blue paint and very sporty right off the showroom floor. A few months later it has an enormous wing, roughly 30 white stickers pretending to be sponsors and white rims. Now I'm sure that appeals to some folks but to me it's the most gawd awful thing I've seen done to a perfectly good vehicle in my life.

when you've got a 427 ci C5-R motor in the GTO, then that wing will become useful ... ;)

I think the twin exhaust tips should be vertical, to follow the pattern of the two white circles in each taillight :)

Anyone else notice the front wheel off the ground? :afro:

I like it. It adds some more aggressiveness to the GTO without being flashy. The quad exhausts on the rear completes the package. If this is the Autocross, then is all of this for show or is it a glimpse of the '05? <_<

And did you guys notice that the twin honeycomb grille inserts have been set back
several inches.
It is no longer flush with the front bumper cover.
Somtehing I suggested several months ago.

We might be looking at the 2005 Pontiac GTO in these pics.

I would also like to see Pontiac offer a Spoiler Delete Option.

$175 credit on the Impala, probably about the same on the GTO.

See, I'm thinking black car, black wing, black rims maybe, no stickers. Plus it's RWD so the wing actually makes some sense towards handling and stability. But each is own. The car definitely looks smooth with no wing. I think the one we are getting is better than the 'PP' version here, or the HSV aluminum strip.

As far as the 'wing delete' goes, the hardest part is matching the paint. So long as the 3rd taillight in the window is functional, I can't imagine it costing much to get some touch-up paint from the dealer, and finding a decent body guy to fill the 2 wholes and match the paint. If they aren't good enough to match the metal-flake you would probably want the whole rear end painted, but it would depend on how good the paint guy is.

I was the first person to scratch the paint on my wife's new Impala (on the mirror holder thingy). To save my life I went to the Dealer to see what they could do and fast. They originally told me $100 which sounded good to me. It turns out that the head guy had just come back from a class where they showed them how to use touch-up paint and a heat gun. The job was fantastic and they ended up only charging me $40. My life was saved for another day.

I know I'm beating a dead horse but black car with those black and silver CV8 (rally III looking) wheels would be the shiaaatttt!

LOSE THE WING

LOSE THE SQUARE EXHAUST CUTOUTS FOR ROUNDED

LOVE THE INSET UPPER GRILL

LEAVE THE LOWER GRILL PORTION THE WAY IT WAS

Just got back from SEMA this evening. The GTO "Autocross" was pretty sweet. Every Pontiac had a Autocroos theme to it.

Grand Am: 2-dr, blue, new front bumper, ground effects, 3.5L V-6 turbo charged, big brakes, custom wheels & tires,

Grand Prix: black, carbon fiber hood, new rear wing, front bumper cover, CF interior kit, 18 or 19" wheels (I can't remeber which), and (get this) an all aluminum 5.3L V-8 transverse mounted & FWD

Vibe: Custom paint, front bumper, 2 rear spoilers (one on top & one mid lift gate), 18" wheels, 1.8L with an Eaton supercharger

GTO pics coming very shortly.

I assume it was the red one we've seen? If not, I wondered why they would change the name from Autocross to Performance Plus. If so, why did they?

Am I the only one who thinks the stock GTO looks a lot better than the Autocross? I like the rims and dual exhaust, that's all. The exhaust cutouts in the bumper should be round, like noted before. If you applied just the rims and the dual exhaust to the stock GTO, it would be perfect!

98formula, My thoughts exactly! I don't know where they came up with the squared off cutouts for the exhaust. :flush:
