I recently bought the light silver vinyl "G T O" stickers to apply to the bottom black piece of my bumper. And I was wondering if it's simple enough to do myself or paying a shop to do it? And about how much should* it cost to have it done?

I washed the area good with soap and cleaned it. I tried to apply the G but the vinyl is too flimsy so it was difficult to try and stick it straight so I just stuck it back to the paper and decided to try later.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Spray the area with soapy water and leave it wet. Position the letter and use a squeegee to remove the water and bubbles once in place. You can use a credit card as your squeegee. Then use a pin to pop any remaining bubbles and squeegee the water out of the pin prick. The soapy water lets you position the sticker before it sticks. When all looks good, you can let it dry or speed it up with a hair dryer.
That's an awkward position to apply them. You might try backing part way into your driveway stopping at the level sidewalk to raise the rear end. Anyway, that's how my driveway is. Street, ramp, sidewalk, ramp.
Hope this helps.

BTW, love your GTO, looks exactly like mine!

Thanks for the help. Any idea on where to buy a super tiny ?squeegy? to fit in the tiny grooves?

Thanks for the compliment! I <3 the silver ones! :D

Do you get those credit card offers with the fake credit cards? Cut them from top to bottom to the width you need.

Here's my QSM the day I picked it up last year:

Excellent advice!

While I have not used soapy water, I do leave the application area wet so as to afford me the ability to more easily position the vinyl.

Relative to the rear fascia vinyl implementation, if it is found that the typical vinyl is too flimsy for adequate application, one may want to consider Liquidome vinyl from Grafxwerks. The Liquidome gives some thickness to the vinyl, which subsequently translates to significantly greater rigidity. I personally found the Liquidome inlays to be much easier to handle and apply.

Best of luck...

MissGTO,
I don't have any advice on helping you get your vinyl decals on, I just wanted to say, you have one nice looking ride! I look forward to seeing a picture of the decal installed. I just ordered bright red decals from GrafxWerks. The side emblem inlays and the front and rear arrowhead overlays.
It should compliment my brake calipers once I get them painted red too.

QSMGTO> That is pretty awesome regarding the credit cards! Never would've thought. Thanks! :) As for your GTO, "Niiiice" I've been looking for a pair of stock '06 tail lights on for mine on Ebay b/c I'm too cheap to pay the dealer price of $350!

LA Phantom> I might try the Liquidome vinyl from Grafxwerks if mine is too much trouble. Thanks!

DeezGTO> I'll definitley upload some pics once I install them! :)

Here are a few pics of my vinyl stickers... I put them on yesterday.
Oh... and some advice... try to put them on when there is no breeze outside... it makes for a difficult install with lots of profanity. :o

HaHa! Will do!

One more question regarding vinyl stickers... does anyone on here have the racing stripes down the hood scoops, roof, and top of trunk? If so, is there a thread where I could find the pics possibly? I've been searching for them, but I'm soooo picky. Thanks guys!

Here's a place with a little lower than dealer price: $246.

Thanks! I think so too... gives it just enough "pop" of color.
Just be careful with the badge inlay.... that "G" is a bit tricky.

I look forward to seeing yours when you get your decals.
