This ones off topic but feel free to share about your neighbors oddities.

I only have about 6 neighbors nearby in my semi-rural area but I thought I'd share some of the seemingly strange quirks they have. I'm sure they think I'm downright funny since I wash the GTO weekly by hand anyway.

1. I've never seen any one of them washing they're vehicles by hand. I've lived here for over 5 years and spend quite a bit of time outside too.

2. One elderly 70 plus y.o. neighbor has been trying to sell his 25 year old John Deere riding mower for the last 3 years. He's finally "dropped" the price to $600!!! from 700 bucks in years past. It doesn't even have the mower deck attached and has a old plow on the front. WTF??? Personally I don't think he really wants to sell it.

3. Fiftysomething couple living behind us recently put up fenceposts along the border of our properties. They took a lot of time and effort to measure, dig and bury the posts. Said they were going to get ponies to graze on their property. (They have about 2 acres there). This was last September and they still haven't put up the actual fence, just the posts. We get along just fine but what gives there???

4. Just today the neighbor across the road late 40's fella was mowing his yard. Seems normal right? Well it hasn't rained for a month, we are in the middle of a nasty drought and the grass is brown and dead. Hasn't grown for a few weeks. All he basically did was kick up a bunch of dust in the air as nobodies grass is even alive. Huh???

Now I know I'm a bit off center myself but sometimes I really wonder about some of my neighbors. Our family gets along with them all so there is no enmity. Just thought some of you would get a chuckle. Feel free to add any of your stories of present or past neighbor shenanigans. :D

Well lets see.

1. Neighbor below, Rodney, lives with some other couple. He has a younger son. Always complains about music being too loud. I love the way he always says it. "It's not the music mang! It's da bass. I know them little computer speakers mang, I got some myself. They're just built for bass" Yes Rodney, Whatever Rodney

2. Well originally the neighbors down and to the left were an older couple with their fairly older son. They all were quite obese. Well one night I came home after drinking a few and the lady was walking their little dog. She was on the phone and walked it right past my car. Then she proceeded to let that little **** dog piss on my car. I respect my elders, but when you don't respect my stuff I get upset. Man I went off. They moved out though

3. Then directly to the left of me upstairs was the cuban dude. He was cool. Didn't care what people thought. I remember that time Rodney went to ask him to turn his music down and he just laughed in Rodney's face, told him to F off, and slammed the door right in his face. Many laughs there. Then one night fire department showed up and then an ambulance. They carried the cuban guys girlfriend out of the apartment, down the stairs, and into the ambulance. Odd but oh well. They left but then no more than 5 minutes later they came back and dropped her off. Even more odd. Well they moved.

4. Now a big family lives where the obese family lived. They have three trucks including one diesel that's lifted and tires. So much for a good parking spot.

5. Now a couple of younger people live where the cuban dude did. Only spoke to them a few times. I know they did some serious painting in that apartment. One of them drives a hybrid civic and the other a chevy aveo. I burn more gas starting up then they do all day:D

Man this is going to be a long post but who cares. Doubt it will get read in the next 24 hours. Those are my neighbors.

Keep 'em comin' folks. Somebody has got to have some outrageous thing or story about a neighbor.

I have an annoying neighbor. They have two SUVs, one a new Tahoe. They also have a 67 or 68 Mustang coupe. Nothing special, just a 289 with a loud exhaust system and funky 1980s chrome rims.
The annoying part is, the car doesn't have current tags and never leaves the driveway. So every other evening, the owner's out in his car at between 8 and 9 pm in the evenings. He starts it up. Sounds good. But, he just sits in the driveway revving it for thirty or so minutes. Not fun to listen to on summer evenings when I have the windows open. Geez, drive it around the neighborhood instead! Cops aren't patroling at that time of evening and would hardly pull him over for non current tags unless he does something foolish like light up the tires. Better yet, register the darn thing and have fun driving it around.

lol...this is good stuff. I live in an apartment complex at the moment...and oddly enough, I don't really have any "odd neighbor" stories to tell. I guess about the only odd thing that goes on is this ONE guy that roams the whole city of Elko, dumpster diving. What's odd is that he's usually very clean and well dressed...he always has this ****ing hat on with a flap that covers his ears and the back of his neck and always has a sweater very neatly tied around his neck and hanging down his back. LMFAO! I saw him today in fact, walking down Mountain City Highway about a block from I-80...and he was picking up rocks that were in the road way and tossing them off onto the berm. lol...what a fruitcake.

oh...the funny part about him is how he looks...he's about 6'3" and maybe 175lbs...he must have about a 37" inseam. Always has his shirt tucked in and his pants pulled up tight with a belt. Looks goofy as ****. LMFAO!

I never see my neighbors. They barely live there and i'm cool with that.
However, the people across the street are a lil nutzo. The couple is probably mid 30's. The have weiner dogs instead of kids. Seriously, they have stickers on the windows saying (no joke) "In case of fire, please rescue me" and the description of the dogs. One of them sleeps in a baby carriage...weirdo. Best part of the house, the entire kitchen is filled I mean FILLED with cows. o the horror.

Interesting. I'm not knocking on you but often times Californians portray themselves as progressive and friendly. Although my neighbors have their odd quirks they also have their strong points too. Just the other day one neighbor gave us a watermelon out of his garden. It was really good too. I've given our neighbors vegetables out of my garden as well. One time when my riding mower was down one of the aforementioned neighbors mowed our spare lot for us. Very nice. As I said we all get along well I just find some of their activities a little odd just as they probably think the same thing about me.

Anyone else have any strange stories?

When I first moved into our new home, I was giving a friend a tour. This is the kitchen, the bathroom, and livingroom. Went out in the backyard, this is the garage, the back fence, and then turned around and we spotted my new neighbors grinding away on a chair in front of the open slider. I turned to my friend and said, "and those are my neighbors." He smiled and said, "I like your neighbors." and the next few days proceeded to tell everyone about my fine new home.:) They just moved out a few weeks ago.:(

yeah i know what you mean. im originally from NJ and we have a mind your own bussiness attitude . now i live in a new neighborhood in nebraska full of new families.I cant stand the way the people in my neighborhood all seem to congragate together. it drives me nuts because i know they are all busybody gosiper types. if theyre not gosiping they are talking about husker football (even in April). I hate it here SOOOOO much.
