you need to get it up in the air and check everything.

Check the half shaft bolts, and suspension bolts.

front/rear?
left /right?

just need more info

Could also be the brake pads loose in the saddle. Pretty common problem actually. If that is indeed the case, not much you can do about it really. I have "glued" them to the caliper using high temp silicone, which does work, but only temporarily usually.

And I just noticed you're in Queens...so I'm reckoning you do a lot of city driving, stop n go, etc. Just adds more fuel to the brake pad theory.

This may not help but go out to your Goat and push/bounce all four corners of the vehicle to see if you can get the rattle to pop up. Then you could at least start to narrow down the problem.

Also, check the spare in the trunk and make sure it is securely tightened down. If that long restrainer bolt and plate are loose it could rattle around. Also check that the wheel chocks haven't fallen out of the cloth bags and aren't banging or ratting against the spare or spare well. Then check your exhaust to see if it isn't banging against something. Peek underneath and tap around on the exhaust shields and make sure they aren't vibrating against something (this happened to me once and I just had to bend them and the problem was solved).

So check the little things first. Then if that's not the case, it does sound like suspension or brakes. Good luck.

And don't forget, it could ALSO be a dwarf or a small troll, hiding behind your gas tank with a bag of loose change. I've seen this before.

I've heard it could be Gnomes or even Gremlins. ;)

it cant be a troll . they only use troll free suspension parts on all the gtos. More than likely a gremlin with a small box of amc parts.

After the last DMS day that I went to that Pedders had set up I was in shock to see some of the stock suspension that was pulled out of a 05. The sh%t was f&%ked up!! Things that you would see from a car with over 100k. Might be save to have it all checked.

Check your parking brake cables. They tend to rattle against the frame when you go over bumps. I'm not sure if theres a good fix for it, I used zip ties.

i did it wasnt the brake cables. i noticed when i took the front tires off theres a rod that runs along side of the strut with bushings. theres a bushing with 2 rings. 1 one top and 1 on the bottom. i played with them and they made the same sound i hear when the tires hit a certain bump. they sound like a pocket full of change gingling. almost as if there were to much space between then. what gives.

Ya know, it could also actually be a small bag of loose change under there...rattling around.
