Not GTO related, but if you are bored and looking for some brief reading material and pics in regards to a new U.S. automaker of a police only vehicle, check this out.

I'm in no way affiliated/associated with them, just thought I'd share. Personally, I think the car looks kind of cheesy. *Sounds* good though compared to the P.O.S. Ford I currently drive.

Well from a money stand point it think it sucks, to me it makes more since that they use the cars we get and that it would be cheaper. I do like the front plate.

It looks like a "transformer" vehicle.
I don't know if it would be cost effective since most PD's are on tight budgets and thier police units get more "abuse" then say a fire truck or paramedic truck.
It's a good idea in theory though. Can't blame them for trying.

I don't think it matters, the key issue is while it be cost effective, if its the same price as a regular fleet cruiser, and provides better performance there is no reason not to. Frankly, with the 280HP (if that) in the Crown vic, it is in DIRE need of an update. I think this PO office only car would be good as it would help distinquish when its an actual cop car and not some geezer in a crown vic.

the good ole crown vic is just fine for the job. police arent supposed to encourage high speed chases anyways. Its very difficult to shake the fuzz once the radio call goes out.

Well performance can be more than speed, gas milliage for one I would like to see increased, imagine if all the PO cruisers in the country were hybrids, or deisels.

Within the last 2 weeks, a couple of Crown Vic patrol cars in San Antonio have "Spontaneously Combusted" for unknown reasons, the officers in both vehicles were unharmed.

i cant agrue against that . they actually were telling the state troopers here in nebraska not to drive as much so they could save on gas. imagine that theres 100s of miles of interstate 80 which could be going unpoliced. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)
