LS2weber 11-16-2007, 05:09 PM Ok guys you helped with the tint, now tomorrow I go to get my shift light and was wondering if I should get the HSV Holden Special Vehicles or just keep the stock Pontiac.

GT O yea 11-16-2007, 05:38 PM If you want to be different and seem a little more custom than most:cool: , I would go wih the HSV, I beleive it is just a display thing and no performance or other display options than what are on the Pontiac module. If the cost is about the same I would opt for the HSV myself:D
LS2weber 11-18-2007, 06:32 PM Well I did it got the shift light @ 6200 the HSV and the daylight running lights full delete. Love it, I’m happy I did it plus you should of herd my car on the Treasure Island tunnel on the bay bridge WOW she can be laude.

That was pretty cool, do you have this in your Goat Andy?
djbrianc 11-19-2007, 11:44 AM How do you get the shift light to work? is it a selectible feature on the programmable menue? or a aftermarket mod?

Yes this is the person Chris White who set this up, he said he tried to get a So Cal meet but like in Nor Cal very few showed up. Most people just send the cluster in but I guess he sets up meets from time to time to do the simple things. I understand to get the color change in the lights you need to send in you cluster.

i wish, i would love to change out the lights and activate my shift light with these guys. i like the tach transition colors, but i found this site just browsing around one day. and yea you have to send your cluster to them

The shift light is in the programmable menue.
andyx181x 11-20-2007, 08:21 AM The shift light is in the programmable menue.
yea but you can access it yourself right? you need to connect it to some kind of computer to get to that menu correct?
LS2weber 11-20-2007, 10:17 PM Yea I asked but they will not tell, I just can not understand why the car did not come with this.

believe it or not: GM disabled the shift light and removed the stock oil pressure and volt meter gauges because they were afraid drivers would be staring at them and eventually get into a car crash.

LOL, which makes about as much sense as taking out the rear view mirror as I stare too much at the Mustangs I've passed. ;)

lol i just look at it is this way, GM can't trust drivers that they know what their doing

LOL in other words, GM thinks most american drivers are idiots and are covering their asses by making sure that if they do get into an accident it wasn't because of a distracting shift light or a instrument gauge was in their field of sight

LMFAO!!!!:D

I think I'm unclear on this, Can I myself, without any help from someone activate the shift light? Seems so tarded to have the light there on the instrument panel but it's not working. Do I have this right?

Nope, has to be programmed on by someone with the software to do it. Yep, I know it does suck. :(
believe it or not: GM disabled the shift light and removed the stock oil pressure and volt meter gauges because they were afraid drivers would be staring at them and eventually get into a car crash. Not exactly. They did disable the shift light. It was originally going to be in there as shown in the video on Pontiac's site before it came over. Then the same video appeared without the shift light working.
The gauges were never offered. They didn't even make a left hand drive version of the gauge pod. So that wasn't going to be happening. And it was only an option on the Monaro/Commodores, not standard equipment.
Aftermarket to the rescue on both. I've had the shift light working for almost 3 years. Works great :) Have the DRL's deleted also. There are quite a few companies that offer the gauge pod for the gauges now.
