Ok, I know 87 octane fuel is definitly not ideal for the Goat, with 93 octane (premium in Michigan) being the manufacturers ideal. There are a few locations around my area that do offer a 100 octane unleaded "racing" fuel. Due to costs im not planning on going out and topping off on the stuff, but what are some of the potential hazards (if any) to using this even higher octane fuel?

There are no potential hazards with using higher octane, just wasting money. There are also no potential benefits either. Stick with your 93, lower octane retards the timming in the computer and you will loose power.

Running some at the strip wouldn't hurt. My reasoning behind this is I've monitored my KR (Knock retard) on WOT runs at various temperatures using 93 octane. I've seen up to about 5 degrees pulled. I can't but think if I was running a higher octane that that number would be lower. I haven't experimented with it (mainly because there is NOWHERE with high octane fuel around). Other than at the track I think it would be a waste of money.

Thanks for the input. I was just kind of curious. 93 works fine for me....especially at 3.00+ a gallon.
