Does anyone know if there are any actual Holden Monaros in the US? Just wondering. Question may have been asked before.

There are several GTO owners that have converted the front and rear facia to the Monaro using actual Holden parts. If it was a real Monaro, it'd be RHD. If there is one here, it's probably a tourist car only allowed in the US for a short duration and can't be registered here. From what I've heard, new RHD cars can't be resgister Stateside anymore.

That is what I was wondering. I was not sure what the regulations are on the RHD in the US. I have read that in Australia if you were to take a GTO there for example it would have to be converted to RHD in order to get registered.

Just curious.

I have seen a couple cars in the Baton Rouge area that are right hand drive. Both were older RR's. They both had Louisiana plates.

It's okay to register older RHD cars, not current ones. In my town, there are a couple of the original Minis in RHD and also some classic Rollers and Bentleys. When it's Monterey historics week, one see's plenty of vintage RHD British and Japanese cars driving around the SF bay area.

USPS= US Government, don't they do whatever they want anyway?

I've wondered why they need RHD mail vans in the cities anyway. In my area, the postal carriers get out of their vans to deliver the mail. I can see the need in rural areas where they drive up to the mailboxes to pick up and deliver mail.
USPS probably got a good deal on all the vans being RHD and not splitting between RHD and LHD.
And hey, UPS, DHL, FedEx use LHD vans!

I Live in Australia and have converted my Monaro (RHD) into a GTO only one I know of in my state. I also have a 87 Corvette which is still (LHD) that is road registered in the state I live in. Road rules differ from state to state here but generally if a car is 30 years or older it can stay LHD. Cut off date for LHD in my state is must be built before December 1990. I do have a picture of my car in the Photo Gallery if any one wants to see.
