: Last update ... Dec '07 GTO Sales
salbracht 01-02-2008, 07:38 AM Looks like this will be the last update for GTO sales ...
GTO sales in Dec '07 : 25
YTD : 4,184
That means that there are essentially no new ones left.
Solstice Dec : 1,360 YTD : 15,493
Sky : 764 YTD : 10,620
theamcguy 01-02-2008, 04:51 PM I for one want to thank you for the monthly updates. I have enjoyed keeping track of the sales.
Orbit Orange 01-02-2008, 05:03 PM Yep thanks for the updates. Let's hope someday we will again have numbers to post if a next gen GTO shows up. :)
gto n 442 01-02-2008, 05:27 PM yes thanks for the updates.
salbracht 01-02-2008, 08:14 PM Here is a graph showing the monthly sales for all 3 model years.
(Note : I'll post the raw data including monthly incentives next.)
Steve
salbracht 01-02-2008, 08:16 PM As promised, here is the raw data with details on monthly incentives and other items of note.
Steve
p.s. The size limitations on non-jpg files is a pain!
Orbit Orange 01-02-2008, 09:53 PM Wow, that's cool stuff. Again thanks, I might have to make that a sticky someday. :)
salbracht 02-03-2008, 03:31 PM Huh? Sales #s are out for January 2008 ... they report that they actually sold 6 GTOs. Not sure where they found them.
salbracht 03-04-2008, 07:42 AM Feb 2008 ... they sold 5 GTOs. Again ... I'm not sure where they found them.
theamcguy 03-04-2008, 07:46 PM salbracht Could you please send me a copy of the graph and chart with all of the GTO sales data? I would appreciate it. TIA
LS2weber 03-04-2008, 11:30 PM I will miss the GTO updates, truth be told I'm sad to see no more new GOATS, so can't wait for the G8 updates lol
MonaroGTO 03-08-2008, 03:55 AM i am glad to have one in my possession......i luv my Goat
GT O yea 03-10-2008, 12:36 PM I will miss the GTO updates, truth be told I'm sad to see no more new GOATS, so can't wait for the G8 updates lol
I mean no personal offense with this, just a oppionated statement question:p !!!
Why the appeal for the G8:confused: , I don't get the draw to this vehicle. It is nothing more than a lame cross design, GTO front end (cool) with a Grand AM rear end (butt ugly) . It looks like a sporty soccer mom car, its has 4 doors, nothing cool about that. I personally see nothing spectacular or even remotely redeeming about the G8 other than the front end and an LSx motor. Maybe I don't get it totally, is the draw, just the fact that it is a Pontiac? If so, I applaud you for manufacturer loyalty, but Pontiac really let you all down with this one. It might be cooler if it were a coupe, and they re-designed that stupid rear taillight assembly. Its simply a lame knock off of old designs.:( If your a mom with kids, get this car, but if you want to turn heads, and be as cool as you can be, this car is not it for sure.
Pickles 03-22-2008, 03:19 AM There are still a few GTO's left for sale in Aus, nearly TWO YEARS, after they've been built. Great car, I'm glad I've got mine.
Cheers, Pickles.
salbracht 04-02-2008, 07:48 AM March 2008, they found/sold another 3 GTOs.
G8s are arriving at the dealers. 777 sold so far.
Ashley2dance 04-04-2008, 10:08 PM So does anyone know how I can locate these unsold gtos? I really just want to know the colors more than anything else.
salbracht 05-02-2008, 07:51 AM April 2008 they managed to find/sell yet another 5 GTOs.
G8 seems to be doing alright ... 2126 sales.
salbracht 06-04-2008, 07:51 AM That's all she wrote ...
May 2008 GTO sales : Zero.
G8 sales dropped a little from last month : 1831 sales. Could this be a result of the high gas prices? We'll have to watch it over the coming months ...
salbracht 07-02-2008, 07:46 AM UNBELIEVABLE! 33 June 2008 GTO Sales!!! That means they have sold 406 to date this year. Where did they find them?
1,536 G8 sales in June ... down a little more again.
Orbit Orange 07-02-2008, 07:50 AM That is truly incredible. I would actually have some worries that a car sitting there that long would have some issues. Let's hope not. Makes you wonder how many more are still out there. It seems earlier calculations were wrong on the number remaining on lots.
salbracht 08-02-2008, 07:29 AM Back to 0 in July. I still don't have a clue what happened in June.
G8 is down again ... 1,472. (Not surprising because of the gas crisis.) Looks like this was the wrong time to bring this car here ... it's turning into a niche vehicle. (The Solstice was within a couple hundred sales of the G8.)
Orbit Orange 08-02-2008, 08:19 AM I'll give the G8 more time. People just don't know about it yet, it hasn't been on the market long enough. Chrysler/Dodge sell a lot of 300's and Chargers, the market is there for a RWD mid/full size V6 and V8 vehicle. If these numbers are the same next year then I may start to worry some.
salbracht 09-05-2008, 08:16 AM Employee for everyone seems to be helping the G8.
1,915 sold in August. YTD is 9,657
Not sure what's up with the Kappa twins. Solstice only sold 917. SKy sold 897. I guess with the summer months behind us ...
salbracht 10-01-2008, 09:22 PM 1,651 G8s sold in Sept. YTD 11,308
We still had the employee discount this month, and gas has come down quite a bit ... but I guess you had to expect the drop with the economy crisis.
WOW! Look at this! Sky outsold the Solstice 724 to 653!
salbracht 11-04-2008, 07:43 AM You knew it was going to be bad ...
1,082 G8s sold in Oct. YTD 12,390
330 Solstices. 308 Skys.
salbracht 12-08-2008, 03:44 PM November 2008 numbers :
1,133 G8s sold in Nov. YTD 13,523
325 Solstices. 265 Skys.
oh yeah ... for all those that have been yelling for Pontiac to die over at GMInsideNews
Pontiac car sales is second only to Chevy (roughly 11k to Chevy's 33k). Pontiac sales double that of Buick (5K), Cadillac (5K), and nearly triple that of Saturn (3.5k) Anyway, from the news regarding the auto bailout, it looks like if GM closes any division it will probably be Saturn.
LA_Phantom 12-08-2008, 07:52 PM I guess I would question how many G8's have actually been produced.

samrawet 12-11-2008, 01:59 AM thanks for update
salbracht 01-05-2009, 01:01 PM G8 did better in Dec compared with Nov. (With Red Tag the rebates were up over $4000, combined with regional rebates on top of that and you can get a GREAT deal on a G8.)
G8 Dec sales : 1,479. 2008 Sales Total : 15,002
salbracht 02-03-2009, 06:00 PM Jan 2009 G8 sales : 1,331
Solstice : 304
Sky : 194
salbracht 03-03-2009, 12:57 PM Feb 2009 G8 sales : 2,705. Not bad considering ...
Other interesting numbers ...
Buick total sales : 2,825 (down 68% from last year)
Pontiac total sales : 13,213 (down 39% from last year)
Chevrolet total (car) sales : 30,234 (down 50% from last year)
Compared against last years percentages, Pontiac actually dropped the least. I also think it strange that they chose Buick as one of the 4 GM brands and minimized Pontiacs role when you look at how few cars Buick currently sells.
Orbit Orange 03-03-2009, 03:56 PM I'm one of those 2,705 G8 sales. :)
G8 almost outsold Buick on it's own. ;)
0% financing on the G8 was what drove the monthly increase. Amazing what low/NO interest loans can do.
salbracht 04-01-2009, 02:50 PM Another good month for the G8 ... up again.
2,939 G8 sales in March.
Solstice sold 317
Sky sold 240.
Pontiac Total : 16,450 (down 30% from last year)
Chevy (cars) Total : 38,818 (down 40% from last year)
Buick Total : 4,172 (down 46% from last year)
Cadillac (cars) Total : 5,728 (down 48% from last year)
Saab Total : 852 (down 65% from last year)
Saturn Total : 2,857 (down 65% from last year)
Considering the current market, I think Pontiac is really doing well. (lowest percentage drop compared with other makes ... sold more than Buick, Cadillac, Saab, Saturn combined.)
If I was a Saturn dealer I would be polishing my resume.
salbracht 05-01-2009, 10:45 PM For what it's worth ...
April 2009 G8 sales ... 2,013. Sales numbers are coming down again after a couple good months.
Get them while you still can.
337 Solstice sold
259 Sky sold
How about this ... 614 Camaro's sold so far.
Orbit Orange 05-02-2009, 06:43 PM Well they took the 0% financing off I believe so that would explain the drop. Still 2K is not too bad. Doesn't really matter any more though. :(
salbracht 06-02-2009, 03:54 PM Incentives came back ... and so did the sales.
G8 May 2009 Sales - 3,081.
Also of note : 5,463 Camaros sold in May.
Orbit Orange 06-02-2009, 11:45 PM Yep G8 outsold CTS as well. But hey let's get rid of Pontiac!!! :(
salbracht 07-02-2009, 07:04 PM G8 June 2009 Sales : 3,622
Also of note : 9,320 Camaros sold in June. It outsold the Mustang which sold 7,632.
