I would have to think that car with that motor could be quick...quick enought to beat a GTO...What do you think?

I'd like to see GM start doing something with the 4.2L straight 6. They've got that thing making serious horsepower and torque. 275 and 275. Now just imagine a super charger on that! :D

Supercharge that engine and do something with the style of the Grand Am, or G6 as it will become. I remember seeing the concept pics a while back and they looked good. Pontiac may really have something going with the GP, G6, and GTO. Trash the Aztec and bring on that Soltice. I am liking Pontiac again. :dribble:

The sad thing about that engine is that its not even competative against the dodge and fords.

I'm assuming you are talking about the "Trailblazer" engine here.
The Dodge 4.7L V-8 only makes 230 HP, yet it is beating the Trailblazer in all aspects. Those 4.2's just don't have th epower that they really should according to all of the HYpe and the HP stats. Someone is lyeing here.....I think Chrysler "Underrated" their 4.7, because that beast Smokes my 5.9 Ram. Its got a HUGE mid-range to it!

THe 3 valve version of the 3.9L pushrod V6 will put out 270HP

S/C version of that should be well over 350HP

GM showed a turbo 3.5L at SEMA and it put out 305HP

No model of the G6 will be faster then the GTO. The GTO is Pontiac's halo vehicle and can not be out performed by any other vehicle in the line-up.
