hey guys need some help here, for a while the trunk latch on the GTO wouldn't unlock itself completly unless i opened the trunk while the latch was resetting, now it completly does but i can't get the trunk to lock. i found the actual hook the bracket locks onto is really loose and is out of alignement, can anyone tell me what tools i need to fix it myself and proper distance to have it in the right place, i won't have time this whole week to take it to the dealership to fix it. also whats the possibiliity of the trunk opening while driving?

Check to make sure the trunk release in the trunk AND the trunk release behind the passenger rear headrest aren't the cause of your problem first. They may be partially pulled or may not. Then go from there. I've driven with the trunk open before on accident. The weight of the spoiler and downforce of the air usually keeps it shut, USUALLY. ;)

i already checked the trunk release mechanism itself, it still locks when i push the tab in and it releases when i press the button on the remote. so they are returning to normal, but i'm sure its the hook bracket that the latch connects too. cause its really loose and it slides up and down. unless that is normal?

Can you get a picture of it so we could compare it to ours? Also the sliding up/down doesn't sound normal, I'll check mine out to see but I don't think it does.

WOW I had no clue that a trunk release was in the back seat let alone the headrest goes up.
