Wear on both sides was equal.

I think you get the idea hear, this is at 34k, another 20k or so and the corner of the spring cup could be comprimised.

That's about what my driver front strut looked like until I had a front end alignment a couple of years ago. After the alignment and subsequent tire switch I have not had the problem since. I will be getting new tires soon so I will once again keep a close eye on the rub issue. I will be getting an alignment at the same time to hopefully stay away from the rub.

Did you switch to 235 series to help cure the rub? With my 245's I don't have any rub after the alignment.

Oh and stop driving in all those rocks. ;)

Actually before I came into this forum, I noticed the wear marks on the struts when I dropped in some new brake pads. I took it down to the dealer and had it checked out, all was fine, but they recommended an alignment to ensure that was not the problem, which was done, but whether it reduced the wear or not I am not real sure of. The wear did look fresh this last weekend and it has been since September since the alignment. The old tires wore very even no cupping or ridge wear was happening. I could actually here them wear on the strut sometimes, I could make it do it. In a turn brake, it felt and sounded a bit like a rough road or something, very faint though, had I not been purposfully listening I might have missed it.

The front tires are 235/40/17 and the backs will be 255/40/17. The KDW NT's are way sticky tires and BF claims that they can disperse water fully up to 80 miles per hour....but the dry performance is really sweet, I took a corner just yesterday, that I hit everyday, at about 45, posted at 25, with a little tire squeel, I hit it at almost 50 and no squeeling tires at all, in fact it tracks over groves tremendously better than the standard KDW's. Quite impressed with them....not to mention they hella cool:cool:

I would love to!!!! But our driveway is gravel, and the roads around here at first notice of snow, they go out and cover the roads with gravel, it takes weeks for it to disperse, I hate it.

I do like the tread pattern on those. What is the wear rating on those, 200 ???

Yep they put cinder on our roads as well. I'm not sure which is worse, salt or cinder. Winter $ucks @$$.

I agree winter is terrible, salt sucks, and those tires are pretty slick. Dirty Harry slick!

Salt:eek: Thank goodness they stopped using salt hear about three years ago,:D they now use some sort or paper pulp and gravel, the pulp is highly resistant to cold, but the gravel is quite abusive though,:o like sandblasting the inside of a fender well:eek: ok ok not that bad, but you know what I mean.:D

I hear ya on the slick thing, as soon as I saw the internet page with that tread pattern, I swear I popped a b*ner, they were way frickin tough looking. I did some research on the tread compound that BF is using and I was sold.

These prices are through Discount Tires, they are the lowest price for BF Goodrich that I have found over here on the west coast. 235/40/17 $157 at Discount Tirs, at Les Schwab $212, Sears $209, Tire Factory $190, Tire SuperStore $179

Thanks for the list. I'm looking at a few different tires right now. As fast as my car seems to go through them, I'm hesitant to spend a lot of $$$ on a set that will get me about 15K miles or less. But I sure like the design on the tread though. :)
