: Matrix Revolutions
1966_GTO_ 11-07-2003, 02:43 PM I am surprised that no one started a thread about this movie. I saw it last night (11-6)... I don't know where to start. I wouldn't suggest reading this thread if you didn't see it yet, because I'll probably end up ruining it for you. But let's just get some replies from people who saw it and what they thought. I think I can explan anything if you are confused....
Davbo 11-07-2003, 03:00 PM I haven't seen it and don't plan to.....okay maybe on video. I loved the original Matrix but wasn't impressed by the second one.
If you want to see an excellent movie, check out Lost in Translation. I saw it last night and loved it.
1966_GTO_ 11-07-2003, 03:16 PM The first one will always be the best even if it lacked special effects and amazing fight scenes. That is true in many trilogies. But the war scene alone in Revolutions was well worth the $5. I suggest you go see it, but don't blame me when you are dissapointed by the ending.
Well let me give my view of the trilogy. Loved the first one for both the action and the story, I thought the second one developed the story very well and that ending just left you wanting more. I didn't think the overall production was as good as the first even though it had the big bang stunts and effects, it just didnt all gel together as well. I thought the last movie had great effects and action galore but the story just went right off the rails with no logic or tying up of all those questions raised throught the first 2. I know its all fantasy but it seemed like they just got it over and done with.
1966_GTO_ 11-07-2003, 09:55 PM Very well put zAp. The second one was a great movie and had me waiting till November for this one. But I just expected more from this one... Not more effects or better fight scenes, because they were as good as it gets. But I was expecting more questions answered, more loose ends tied, and an ending that just makes you want to watch all three again. Instead, I walked out of the theatre saying 'what the hell?' and talked to my friends constantly trying to understand it. I think I get it now, I just don't see why they ended like they did. I want to say more, but there are many people who haven't seen it...
1966_GTO_ 11-08-2003, 11:47 AM Anyobody see it or going to see it? I don't want this thread to fade to unseen territory...
Gaijin 11-09-2003, 03:27 PM I will see it of course. Can't wait to see how it will end.

You probably won't get it right away. You will have to think about it or see it another time. But when you get it, you will realize it wraps the trilogy up nicely...
edge929 11-10-2003, 03:26 PM I'm a big Matrix fan and I liked all of the movies. my favorite being number 2 with all the fight scenes/action. Revolutions really didn't have that much fighting action with the sweet effects, but nonetheless it made up for it elsewhere. My friends and I talked about revolutions way before it came out and we were pretty much right on about how the story ended. Very good plot twist in the second movie with the architect and Neo being just another means of control. I still don't understand how Smith got so powerful and the fact that Neo got his ass handed to him if he's supposedly faster/stronger than anyone within the Matrix. And if it's all in the mind, then why does Neo get tired? Does he convince himself he's hurt?
Anyone wanna take a stab?
1966_GTO_ 11-10-2003, 05:50 PM Smith had totally taken over the Matrix. He controlled everything and he made the Matrix as he saw fit. He was now invincible in the Matrix and, because it was the Oracle Smith, he knew everything Neo was going to do on as well. So when the Oracle spoke through Smith saying 'everything that has a beginning has an end', Neo knew he could not defeat Smith by strength alone. He had to get inside of Smith like in the first movie and received extra power from the Source to beat him from the inside. That is why it was suggested that Neo was in shock like at the end of Reloaded and his body was once again seperated from his mind. But the truth is Neo died like the Ones before him and he was reinserted to the Source and rebooted the Matrix. The End. <_<
Nocturn 11-10-2003, 07:41 PM hmm, My take on the ending was that Neo let smith absorb him and so he became a smith, while Neo was jacked into the Machine city, so the big machine could control smith once neo was absorbed into him, then he just deleted the smith program. Becuase once he was a smith he was linked to all the other smiths, so when the one ate it, all the others followed. Thus why Neo died, and why smith died.
1966_GTO_ 11-10-2003, 10:06 PM Well that's not too far from what I said... I just watched the movie again, and it is pretty evident that Neo represents Jesus. Just look at the way he was suspended when he was defeating Smith...
Madelinot 11-11-2003, 07:20 AM I have not seen the Matrix, but I saw the Meatrix:
