Received a letter from GM today about the fuel cap on the GTO today. It stated if I have any problems with it not coming off or having it throw a code, to take it into my Pontiac dealership and have it replaced, or if I have replaced it, to fill out a reimbursement form, and they would send me a check.
Additionally, they ask for you not to apply downward force to the fuel cap when tightening. For it may not seal properly. It also said if I'm not having any problems with the fuel cap, Do not take your vehicle to your Pontiac dealer as a result of this letter, unless you believe you are having the problems listed. They said they would provide additional protection for the fuel cap. 10 years from the date of service or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Anybody else get one?
Thats right, some '04 owners received them last year.

While the post is a bit old, I too received this letter. I am sure that I still have it somewhere.

Hey Kory, long time no hear. Hows things down in Louisana? Still having traction issues in the Punisher?

Well the Punisher was down for some time as I was trying to figure out why I was misfiring on the #4 and #6 cylinders. To make a long story short, I had two (2) broken rocker arms (Harland Sharp Roller Rockers). Then when I went to pick up the car, the key would not turn. Subsequently, some warranty work was in order. Because the Punisher was down for a while...coming to the forum was a tease.

This past weekend 10 goat (me included) made a run from Baton Rouge to The Myrtles Plantation (one of America's most haunted homes). Anyhow, things are very well here. That is, other than the lingering traction issue. Now that it has cooled off here, it is that much worse.

So what is new with everyone?

The weather lately has been cold but clear. Lack of traction has made driving more like drifting in some cases:D . The white stuff should be flying soon:( . I just got done rotating the wheel and tires and prepping her for storage. I'm already starting to have withdraws.
Sorry to hear about the broken rocker arms(major suck), but glad to hear she's back.(do you call it a she?) The goat run you ran sounds like real fun. Take any pics? Did you see any ghosts? I can't seem to get newage goat owners here to pull over and talk, to put something like that together. Oh well, maybe next season.

I never received a letter. However on one of my trips to the dealer they replaced it.

Welcome back Kory! Since when did you become a Super Moderator?

Thanks for the welcome back. I do not know when I was asked if I would act as one of the forum moderators. It was some time ago.

As far as the letter is concerned, I can try and find mine, scan it, and send it to you. Just let me know.

Thanks.
It would be nice to see it, but please don't go too far out of your way.
