Orbit Orange

Dealer had a SS/RS package, red w/hockey stripe. It was unlocked so I finally got a chance to sit in one. Let me say I'm underwhelmed. Now the outside does look nice, aggressive, nice wheels, HID lamps. Performance I can't comment on but from what I've read is good, not outstanding.
Here's my gripes.
Interior: A lot of cheap flimsy plastics in here. The cheap door panel felt alarmingly thin. Cheap Fisher Price grade plastic on the center console and RIDICULOUSLY small sun visors. They were about the size of an envelope. They wouldn't cut out any sun. Now the seats felt good and supportive, the the guages and steering wheel are awkward at best. Now people complain about how slow our front seats move. The Camaro's seats make ours seem downright fast. And yes the rear seat is utterly worthless as I assumed. I crawled/wedged myself back there and I have to tilt my head sideways so it doesn't contact the roof. Folks I'm only 5'9!!! Only SMALL toddlers could fit back there. I'd be embarrassed to have to ask an adult to ride back there other than in a dire emergency. With the sunroof I only have about an inch of headspace as well, remember I'm no giant. 6 footers and above should stay away from a sunroof unless they tilt the front seat about 45 degrees to the rear. Front window is VERY hard to see out of. Sides were not as bad as I thought. Radio seems average, Chevy blue lights and font of the radio numbers/letters seems a little cheap. Trunk is small and the actual entrance/opening to the trunk is tiny so forget about decent sized objects.
Exterior: None really, it looks nice but when the newness wears off in a year or two I see sales dropping unless they address the interior.
What gets me is GM has the gaul to think that this Camaro is going to be a replacement for my GTO. The GTO has better quality materials on the inside as well as a totally usable and functional back seat. Real adults can use it unlike the penalty box Camaro. Even our trunk as small as it is has a larger opening to put in objects of decent size. I really don't see myself even wanting one of these unless the Z28 would have 556 HP and retail for around 40K. I see it as a 2nd car/toy for wealthier boomers and a DD for teens and young twentysomethings. It really has small appeal to me after sitting in it. Guess maybe I'll have to drive one to see if it would counteract it's sad interior. I've been wanting to like the Camaro but after sitting in it I'm finding it hard to. :(
