I've got a small problem here guys. My current 97 Grand Prix GTP is on it's way out with ~100,000 miles on it and am looking to get a GTO to replace it. My problem is, I have to wait until I graduate from college in May to get a new car as my parents are hinting they will pay a significant chunk of the bill as part of my graduation present. I almost ordered a GTO over the summer until they convinced me to wait by telling me this. My question is, what is the best way to make sure I will be able to get ahold of a new GTO come May? I'm hoping my GTP is going to last that long, but I have been having little things here and there going wrong which keeps costing me ~$500 a pop to fix and I am really excited about the GTO. Any help or suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I believe the idea that this car will be hard to come by is inflated. Pontiac/Holden will move on to making 2005's in August or September, thats about 10 months. 18000 being made and 500 comming over on each shipment. There should be plenty of GTO's to go around. Remember, they predicted the same kind of shortages for the new Silverado SS, and guess what you can walk up to any Chevy dealership and pick up an SS. Also the dealers who decided to sell the SS at is "market value" (artificial market), still have them on the lots. Saying that there will be a shortage is great for publicity, lots of companies do this, but this is a niche vehicle. They may sell out, but there should be one for every single person who wants one. You shold have no problem waiting untill May.

6 of 10 people don't like the New GTO!!!
There will be plenty go go around...

Cool,
I saw the Goat at the New York auto show last year, and I simply desire a style with more edge, agression. Thus, I'm holding out for 2005, and the rather modest changes in the big picture, that will add the visual impact, that I prioritize.

Think Mustang Cobra. Hard to come by when intially released. Now can be had for invoice.
