Got an envelope today from Pontiac containing another showroom brochure (same, not new) and a letter.

The letter says, in part: "I am happy to report that the GTO is now on its way - in fact, production started in September. Initial shipments to dealers (in smaller quantities at first) are planned for December. Moving forward, each GTO is expected at the dealer within 60 to 90 days after the week its built. You should hear from your dealer in the near future regarding the specific delivery date of your GTO." Signed by Bob Kraut, GTO Marketing Director, it shows my order # and thanks me for ordering.

Nice to know Bob is thinking about us, no? :)

Well, because my salesperson asked for it, because Pontiac said they might send stuff out...

Actually I was fairly dissappointed in the Pontiac website. I entered my info into the 'email me updates' like at the beginning of the year, and I didn't find out about the advanced ordering until like 2 weeks after it started because I wasn't quite as obsessed yet...
