The Monaro 427 has the fastest qualifying time for the Bathurst 24 hour race.
The two Monaros entered have qualified first and third,The lamboghini qualified second.
See Procar.com.au for qualifying times and entrants (Under Bathurst 24 hour)
I believe the speed channel will show one hour of the 24 hour race.
The race Telecast starts on ch 7 Melbourne at 1.30 tomorrow (22-11-03)
Procar will give regular updates. Hope this info helps to pass the time while your waiting for your new GTO's.
Go MONARO.

Sorry second fastest was Mosler
Monaro's running 1st and 2nd followed by ferrari .
Its gone from sunshine to torrential rain and the cars are under caution, cameramen have stood down from their towers due to lightning in the area. A couple of broken BMWs and other casualties.
Red Monaro pace car aswell.
Monaros came home 1st and 2nd just 0.3 seconds apart after 24 hours and 12 laps ahead of 3rd place a Porsche GT3.
The team manager had to tell the Monaro drivers to take it easy when they started niggling each other with several hours to go. But with 7 minutes to go they were let loose with the only instruction not to collide with each other and drove on to a thrilling bumper rubbing finish.
Watching the Monaro 427s eat the Diablos and Ferrari 360s down the straight and through the twisties is a sight to behold. I saw a GT3 latch onto the back of a Monaro in the tight bits when it was wet but as soon as they headed down the mountain it was "cya!!"

That was the best 24hr I have ever seen. I couldnt believe the team instruction. I have never seen or heard a team boss inform drivers from the same team, in a 24hr endurance race to battle it out (especially within minutes of the finish line) to the finish. Seeing them weave through slower traffic inches from each other was "a sight to behold" wow. Usually 24hr ends with a parade lap....not this one. Typical bathurst stuff. I think the crowd would have booed Garry Rogers, the drivers and GRM if they finished in formation without fighting for a win, Im happy this didn't happen.
If anyone can post fottage of the last 10-7 minutes I would be very greatful. THANKS

We won't see the race until January sometime on our Speed Channel.
Glad to see the Holdens kick but. I really hope a race team here uses a GTO in competition. I would love to see some of the Holden team members come over and help out our guys on the car. The motors we have covered because I think they are the same 427 C5R engines used in the Corvettes.
Very happy to see the Monaro's won though!!!

Good work Holden (HSV)! I'd love to have a 427 in my new GTO...
I liked that part about smokin' a GT3 and Ferrari!
