Supposedly some information leaked from a Ford employee saying that the new Mustang will not have a PCM chip insert, making it very hard for aftermarket tuning. Also, the car will have some kind of system that will not allow heavy fluctuation of torque levels. So if any aftermarket performance upgrades are made that effect torque, the PCM will act up some how.
Lastly, he said that the car will have the 4.6L rated at 300HP in GT trim, but the car is much heavier than the current one. Supposedly it will be slower through the quarter than the current Mach 1. Haha, just thought I would share. GTO for the 21st century baby!

The new PCM will be based off a Motorola CPU .... pretty slick
chips suck, just flash the modified programming strait into the PCM ... GM's been this way for along time.

I cant wait to see the reaction of die hard Mustang fans. The people I have been talking to do not like the new Mustang.

I find it hard to believe that Ford would actively fight the aftermarket since it is HUGE for the Mustang. Sounds like another internet rumor to me.
You can flash the Mustang PCM now. Saleen flashed my PCM when I installed a supercharger. Rumor, rumors......

yes you CAN flash ford PCM's now .... hence the late model predators
BUT
they also use chips which are more popular
you can not install a chip into an LS1 PCM the same way
sorry I wasnt more clear

From what I understood was that the Mustang will not have a harness at all, so there is no easy access. Supposedly it's just like the new F150, but I haven't seen it, so i'm not really sure.
