Okay, we all know the ferry has unloaded its load of GTOs out west.
Where are they at now and when are they supposed to show up at dealerships?

I was offered a car on December 18!!! I did decline however...I strongly feel 2005 will be the right choice for me...ie...the 1997 GTP is the readheaded step child...I would like to see the dyno's come in and see what kinda power is real vs advertised...2005 is supposed to offer ram air and hood scoops...370 HP...

Cool GTO. Same thoughts. I want hood scoops and any other slight exterior modifications that will deliver a somewhat more aggressive look. I'll pass on 04.

Wow that got hijacked quick. My dealer thought that since they were the first cars ever imported from OZ that the Feds were taking a long look at the paperwork etc. Figured it would add a week or so before they started actually shipping from Benicia. That being said they should be on railcars and transports as we speak.

Village Pontiac here in Naperville, IL states that they are to receive their first cars by Dec. 23rd. They are allocated 16. Boy, that sure would make a nice Christmas gift! :D

My dealership just called me 20 minutes ago and said that they were expecting their first GTO in 2 weeks. I told him to call me back when it's in so I could see it. Seeing how I'm seventh in line (out of 9 for sure, maybe 10), it'll be awhile before mine gets here.

I also read that the U.S. imported a convertible model in the early 90's from OZ. Some much for dealer credibility.

Mr Pontiac

First welcome to the board! :)

I think the link you are referring to is a load of pre-production vehicles that was brought over here a couple of months ago. The pictures were discussed here at that time. This is an older link at the LS1 site. I could be wrong but the first "real" shipment of GTO's is still out on the west coast somewhere in all liklihood.

I'll check over there to see if I'm right, I've been wrong before. ;)

Hey Orbit, where you been hiding??

Howie

Why under an Orbit Orange rock of course. :P

I haven't been posting much recently, just reading and checking in. I'll check at least once a day if I can swing it.

And I made a mistake too. I thought Mr Pontiac meant LS1.com not ls1gto.com, my mistake. I checked out ls1gto.com trying to find the pictures of new GTO's in Illinois but couldn't find them. I figure if they are in Southern Illinois I'll go hunt them down and give everyone the scoop, but I just figure the reference was to the pics about a couple of months ago at ls1.com and various other sites. In fact I think they are here too, gotta look.

Sunday paper had an ad for a dealer which stated Dec. 3rd! Too bad it's one of those gouging EBAY dealers.
