Just visited my local Holden dealer and checked out HSV's GTO. Mate, this baby is AWESOME!!!! All you guys out there with GTO orders, you will be totally blown away when you get your hands on it!! I don't know how you can handle the waiting.
My prediction - those 18,000 will be gone pronto, especially once the general public starts seeing (and hearing) them on the street. :dribble:
I also read in Motor magazine that in a year or 2, they will be using the BMW 5 speed auto.

New trans and engine for holden probably out in the next model (VZ), the VE holdens should have new platform and body.
Just to point out that the Pontiac GTO is not the same as the HSV GTO. Whereas the Pontiac car is a base model with the 6 speed being the only opton, the HSV GTO sits a couple of models above the base model Monaro CV8. Although the HSV car has I believe slightly more power I think performance its comparible to the Pontiac car once gearing and tuning are considered. The HSV car has a more aggressive, if fussy, face lift than the Pontiac version. Then of course there is the HSV GTS which is to be unveiled in its new guise in February. Pontiac have plenty of room to move as far as a higher performance model is concerned. Where they will have to manouvre is price\performance and hallowed Corvette territory.

Well I don't know how you can call the 04 a classic <_< , but in other news, I saw a commercial yesterday for the 04 Grand Prix which, by the way, is almost indistiguishable from the GTO, and they were touting 260hp! What is up with that?!
they give more HP AND more hoopla to the grand Prix than the GTO? Pontiac isn't committed. They should just give up now. :pain:
Also:The precious hoodscoops that all the 04 fans keep asking for were probably withheld because Pontiac put them on the new Grand Am SC/T. I have an idea, why doesn't pontiac wrap all their indistiguishable models into one and call it the "Grand Priam GT Rice Burner!" Pontiac- Driving Conformity.
What new car do you propose we all buy instead?

The '04 Grand Prix is almost indistinguishable from the '04 GTO if you are blind and deaf. If you said the GTO looked like the '03 Grand Prix, you MIGHT have a leg to stand on. And last I checked 350hp is more than 260hp.
And just so I know, where else do you troll at so I can attempt to avoid you...

I actually looked at the GP in the dealership while I was ordering my GTO. I do like the revised styling and the dash layout. 260 horses for the GTP x2f3 or whatever it's called is pretty strong. However the quality of the interior materials were the same as my 97 Z. Not good. The back seat is unbearable as well. You sit fully erect. My back hurt after 30 seconds.
