Haven't received mine yet, but I'm starting to think about wheels and tires already. Anyone know the stock wheel width & how big of a tire can we squeeze in the wheel well?

Stock is 17x8

Many have posted that 275's will fit. We'll see.

From what I can remember from the Aussies talking about this, 255 is the largest without modification. You can get 275s but you have to modify the wheel well lip and a couple other areas.

What about the lug pattern? Is it shared with any other GM product? Is it a 4 3/4" patter?

When I asked this question before I was told that BMW 3 series rims would fit. Same bolt pattern and same back spacing. I was given a size of 5x120 and 42 offset. I would assume the 42 refers to millilmeters. This makes sense because the 3 series beemers are 40 mm. If this is true, there are currently 55 - 18" rim choices on Tirerack.com that fit.

I was told by my contact in Pontiac the GTO has the same pattern as the Vette, 5x4.75".

120mm = 4.724" based on 25.4mm to inch

Wow, better make sure before ordering wheels. 4.75" x 25.4 = 120.65mm, which is close enough for some people. Without looking at a drawing, I don't know what the tolerance spec is, but I would wager the difference is outside it.

check www.bigwheels.net but be carefull, they will tell you it fits when it actually will rub a little on the rear wheel wells. The good news is they will let you borrow a fender roller to remedy the problem for no charge.
