Basically this is the Grand Am Replacement. It is larger and features a 170HP I4, 200 HP 3.5L V6 and a GT with a 240 HP 3.9L.

Rumor has it we will see a GXP Coupe in a year or two with a 270 HP 18 valve 3.9L.

A 250 to 270 HP AWD version would be pretty cool.

I prefer it over the current GA that's for sure. My wife even likes it. Maybe this will be sitting next to my GTO in a few years???

:D

Actually, that sunroof desgin has been used for many years....its avalible on almost every Mercedes-Benz vehcile. This looks like a fun little car to drive with higer build quality than the current Grand Am which is more suitable as a rent-a-car. Pontiac's future is looking brighter.

What the hell is the point of that sunroof. Nothing wrong with the normal design... The styling of the car is cool, more agressive than the GTO but not as weird as the Grand Prix. I like it, but I am waiting for the 2-door roadster... :woot:

A very nice looking car. I believe that this car is a good step up from the Grand Am. The GT should compete in it's class very well, as the horsepower is in line with the Accord and Altima. The sunroof is definately unique, however, I don't necessarily consider that to be a bad thing. A 270hp GXP version would be very hot, especially if they add AWD.

Orbit, that would be a nice looking garage. If your wife really likes it, maybe you could talk her into the GXP version.

Mmmm ..... GXP

Mmmm ..... GTO

Those 3 letter names have a good ring to them don't they!

Now I just have to figure out what bank to rob to fund my master plan. :D

The Pontiac lineup is slowly getting better.

But we'll only know for sure when the critics start performing comparos.

From a strict performance view I would agree, but from external appearnce I give them an F. That G6 looks down right hideous..

Are you nuts? Except for the distorted front view at the top, the car looks cool and definitely more sporty than any of its competitors. And since it will be built off of GM's Epsilon platform (Saab, Opel) it will have **** good quality to boot. 200HP is a good start, probably will get a higher powered engine in year two. PLUS, at the Detroit G6 reveal, they showed a ****-fine looking coupe and convertible that would come a year later.

So, if you add it up, in 2004/5 Pontiac will introduce the new GTO, the Solstice convertible, the G6 sedan, coupe and convertible (two convertibles in one year?!), the new Montana SV6 and probably a couple of GXP's, probably both with V-8's (the Bonneville GXP has a Northstar!). If anyone questioned whether Pontiac could really do it again, the answers are there.

Prepare your garages. B)

the back kinda reminds me of the neon. other then that I like the design. at least pontiac didn't make it look boring.

The sunroof is easy to explain. In keeping with the Australian theme started by the GTO, the G6 sunroof is an homage to the Sydney Opera house.
