Will adding a Spintech 2.5" Catback w/X -pipe provided any horsepoer gains? Will adding the 3" Catbak provide any power loss to a stock 06 A4?
exhausts and CAI dont really give results in terms of HP. at most your looking at 1-3 HP gain, headers is where its at. and you dont want to really go with 3" thats a big pipe that might set of the O2 sensor or worst screw with your emissions.
^^^^^I agree, but if you do go with 3" you'll prob. need to get a tune for it.

defintly and i dont think you want to waste that kind of money when all you got going is a cat back exhaust, also on newer cars today you want to be running a little bit of back pressure, its not the good old days on the 60s muscle cars have 3 1/2" straight pipes had no affect on the engine. the emissions will be high and the warning lights will be going crazy
For a car like the GTO even on the 6.0 dual 3" tubes is overkill, ideally the system should be setup in steps, say, 3" header collectors, into a 3">2.75" X pipe, into 2.5 or 2" dual pipes all the way back.
Also remember that with two pipes you don't need as big a size, unlike a import that runs one pipe, each pipe only feeds 1/2 the engine, so where a 4.0L v6 would need say a 3" single, a 6.0L v8 would probably only need 2-2.25" catback pipes.

exactly, bigger isnt always better especially when the car alrady has a dual system set up for you, at least you will getter a better flow because the plumbing is new, as you can see on another post here the factory pipes are dented and dinged up that make you cringe
I suppose if you get forced induction (maggie, big turbo) and are putting out some big numbers in horse power, I would go to a 3". Hmmm.....someday!

so headers with stock catback works ok?

well for sure the headers will give you way more HP then any aftermarket exhaust, you dont even really need the exhaust. but dont be expect like a 15 HP gain, they are just pulling your leg on that. will your engine feel smoother and sound leaner? yes it will, especially when all the plumbing has been remade for the exhaust. with headers im thinking 5-8 HP gain? anyone else agree? but you should back that up with a CAI to complete it, but again do not get your hopes up thinking you'll have 425 HP just on those things alone
exactly, thats a differnet plumbing system to go about with too especially on a Turbo. but you also gotta put a different oil pump, the intercooler, upgrade the fuel injectors, etc.

did you see the flyer i posed above^^^^^^
Thunder racing told me 30 hp gain from kooks..
