Let me just say that increased velocity on the air side will enhance the overall heat transfer coefficient. Generally speaking, the thermal conductivity for a metal is greater than that of the plastic used by such CAI's as the K&N Air Charger. What this means is that in theory, the inlet air should be heated to a greater extent in a metal intake tube than a plastic one. In any event, if heat soak is an issue, there is not much one can do with the stock IAT, which is integral to the MAF in the '05/'06 GTO...unless the IAT is relocated...like I have done.
