Gear Vendors

Anybody thought of using a GearVendors unit behind their auto? Looks like it would be the ideal mod for those wanting better acceleration and gas mileage without any engine mods, or you could combine with engine mods. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion. For those unfamilar with the GearVendors unit it is installed behind your original transmission and it allows you to split your gears, no more huge 1-2 rpm drop off. Would give you 8 different ratios. I did the math and it looks like there would be 7 usable gears since 3rd over and 4th are practically the same. 4th over would be equivallent to 6th in manually equipped cars. Anybody had any first hand experience with a GearVendors?

EXPENSIVE!

It is $3000 then you need a custom driveshaft and install.

I think it is a great mod and idea, just a bit out of my league. If I could afford it - I would have it though.
